This season is trending to be just the fourth time a Presidents Trophy winner missed the playoffs the following season. The previous three were the 92-93 Rangers, the 07-08 Sabres, and the 14-15 Bruins. Let’s hope this team takes the same path as the previous Rangers team (ie follow it up with a Cup). |

That Ranger team had a guy named Messier on it. This team doesnt have a leader like him. |

Lavy is a terrible coach. Over and over again things don’t work and what does he do? Does them over and over again. It’s either the players don’t want to play for him, or they’re all just that bad |

Quenneville is certainly a hard ass. But, he's been out of the game and potentially lost a lot of respect throughout the community. Is he really the guy?
Nobody ever played harder than Peca when he was on the ice. I'd rather give him the reins and see what he could whip this squad (or some version of it) into. |

We need to see what the roster looks like next year before worrying who is going to coach it |

I remember in '93 when the Rangers hired Keenan, him and Neil Smith were essentially butting heads about the roster so quickly the ink on his contract was still wet
but Keenan was being a hard ass about the '93 draft and demanding Neil trade up from 8th overall and get to draft Chris Pronger but Neil couldnt pull it off
if the Rangers fire Laviolette and hire a hard ass type, I'd expect it to be before the draft and that guy to have some very vocal opinions on personnel decisions

Same here.
I am uncertain what the Flyers are thinking They were 10 games under the NHL defined .500 during his three seasons there. Did they want to lose more under Torts? He didn't lose enough games? |

One or two. NMC's need to be waived for anything but Krieder to be moved. The second would be Key Miller, or Jones. Soucey if you keep man-to-man D. |

I think hiring torts would do more damage to recruiting players to come here than anything else that’s been done |

I agree but CK20 isnt going to bring back a first or second liner neither is Jones or Soucey. Key Miller or Laffy might be able to bring back a solid second liner, maybe a center. Even they Mika waives, what type of return can it really be? he has 5 more years, will it be for a third liner, maybe second? I dont see our assets bringing in a substantial return to move the needle next season. |
