need a big L tonight. MM gets 2, TK and Coots keep playing well, JD and York play well, Tip etc, build a little confidence, but lose 5-4, it will not hurt the GAA or Save % |

Read a very interesting idea about potential offer sheets this summer. Even with the cap increasing, some teams will have cap issues. DAL will have about $5 million in cap space in the summer. Briere could offer sheet Mavrik Bourque at a 2nd round tender for around $4.6 million. Considering the Flyers have 4 2nd round picks, using their own 2nd round pick to acquire young NHL talent would not be a bad idea. |

He’s technically a C, even if he’s been playing RW for the Stars this year. |

That is a lot of money for a .35 PPG player - They should have just kept Frost |

For a former low 1st round pick in his first full NHL season playing 3rd lines minutes, it’s not bad. It’s a case of where your scouts see his potential peaking over the next few seasons, and whether or not they still view him as a C. Of course, not knowing what system he’d be playing in hurts in that regard… |

There certainly is risk with this type of signing because Briere would be projecting the player to elevate production after signing the contract. Armstrong signed Holloway for 2.29 mllion/yr coming off a 6 goal season. Looks like a bargain now. If Briere signs a player for only 1 year and the player under performs, the player is still a RFA. The team just does not have to tender the player at the end of the contract. |

Jake Pelletier was technically a C at lower levels too, but it's probably just not happening at that size.
If you're gonna go the offer sheet route, cash in a top-40 pick, it had better be for somebody with a LOT more upside and positional relevance than Bourque.

Fedotov in goal tonight. Shaw confirms Risto is gone for the year. Have a feeling Risto won't be moved till the deadline of his last year of his current contract as a rental. Just the reality at the moment. |

Pelletier was a W by the time he got to the AHL. Bourque scored at > ppg last year in the AHL as a C. He also has 2” and 10 lbs. on JP. So, it depends on what your scouts tell you. |

I love the "undersized" angle from the Flyers. I wonder what that makes Cale Makar? |
