I have moved on to descend down the rabbit hole of generators because we now need one I’ve been told (but also agree).
Considering the Honda inverter 3000 quiet series and other brands similar to it.
So many options / choices.
Leafs need to solve goalie Bob here - to me they are over passing and not letting it rip enough.
And just line that Willy sets up 🐍 🚨🚨🚨🚨
What a simply fantastic play by Willy.
Boooooya! - Cush29
would solar panel help? might be something to invest in along with a tankless hot water system.

We have tankless already (and I love it). This isn’t our forever home and likely we will be out of here in the next 5 years so solar investment is more consideration for next home.
I want a more semi- portable generator that can handle the bulk of or all of the important stuff - fridge, furnace, hot water, sump pump, freezer and maybe wifi / tv.

One with battery storage would definitely help.
More up-front cost but could earn your money back. |

Honda makes great generators. - Whipper
For sure they do that’s the one my kid brother brought over and we used for a couple days but their pricing is wild. Like a 3500 watt Generac is half the price of the Honda 3000!

So keep in mind I am not an expert - my total knowledge of this is reading a single article in the NYT, but the article suggested that the most cost-efficient method was buying a Ford F-250 (iirc) and wiring your house so it could both charge and power your home.
Charge at night at low rates, power your home during the day. And it could act as emergency backup for 24-48 hours, if you only power essentials.
At the very least, interesting read. |

I wonder if a solar panel and battery solution would pay for itself?

Yeah, would probably have to be a truck with a rechargeable battery.

A buddy of mine told me someone near his place (he’s had no power since Saturday afternoon and is STILL out in rural Oro north of Barrie) who (and I quote) “ back fed house from cybertruck. 50 amps at 220v”
So that’s uh something.
I’ll just keep it simple and go with a genny, maybe a dual or tri fuel option one if I’m feeling daring. Now that I know how to run my furnace off it I already have my fill of McGuyver-ness. 🤣 |

Benoit looks very lost in a fast tight game like this.
How is forcing OEL to his off side to fit Benoit into the lineup still a thing when OEL/Myers would seem to effortlessly fix so many things at once |
