Skinner is a nightmare defensively and positionally. Players that run around and get caught out of position are really hard to play with, no matter what their skill level is. If I'm on my game, I'd rather play with a lower skilled guy who is reliable positionally than try to guess what Mr. Fancypants is going to do or where he's going to be next.
This is why Skinner gets traded, why he misses shifts, and why he gets scratched. But people just see the Sportsnet highlights at 6:30. Lol

Skinner has head issues, of both the goaltender and concussion varieties. If the team is playing well in front of Picard rolling towards the playoffs, he definitely starts game 1. J. Skinner isn't as bad defensively as some make him out to be, and has been quite good lately, but you can't sit your PK players to play him and Kane, who has been out all year. If the Oil can't get their PK rolling like it was last year, it will be a short post-season.
