Kasper has without a doubt solidified his place as the 2nd line center of this team. This is exactly what we were hoping for... I do hope that Sandin-Pellika is good enough and ready to make a direct jump to the NHL. He'll get his shot to make the case in training camp next season. Let's hope he's that good and can make the case.
Best case scenario for next season is all the top prospects take a job in Detroit. It's not unrealistic for at least 4 or 5 new young players in Detroit. Cossa will certainly get a shot to earn the backup job I'd think. Could be another logjam as both Mrazek and Talbot are signed for next season. Let the best goalie win. I'm sure Lyon will be goine to free agency... I just don't see the Wings extending him an offer at this point.
And then there's Buchelnikov... really wish Detroit could give us some kind of update on this enigmatic prospect. He looks like the real deal to me. |

After I tried to contact Buch’s team, I found out the NHL shut down most communication w the KHL, even for prospects. I agree that 4 to 5 kids could grab spots. Just need to stay healthy. Lombardi could be in Kasper’s spot from this past season as a top winger before a move to center. Curious to see the D. There was a write up on Johansson’s physicality in GR on a pairing w Buium. Lots of good takes floating around |

OH... and I almost forgot to say: GO WMU BRONCOS TONIGHT !!
Most everyone has Boston University as the favorite and WMU as the underdog. I'm not buying it. WMU is a more balanced team with the highest scoring offense in college hockey. They can roll 4 solid lines. They've also beaten much better teams then what BU has played. BU has 13 NHL draft picks. WMU has 8. BU has more higher round draft picks. Both goalies are freshmen... but I'd give the edge to BU's young Russian goalie. WMU has a better team defense. Their offense is also very hard to match up against. WMU has an edge in special teams... especially the PK. Should be a great game. |

Nice! Kzoo travels well when the Broncs are skating well. Loved the sports when I was out there. A lot of fun even when they weren’t killing it. This would be huge for recruiting |

Jeremy Laura: Red Wings Marco Kasper gets 2 big goals in 4-3 OT win over Lightning - Jeremy Laura
Jeremy, I have to admit that I am not cheering for wins these days. I am how ever cheering for individual Wings to find the back
Of the net, make a great pass or a solid hit. Cheering on the likes of Kasper, Seider, Eddy, Raymond and DeBrincat. My hope is the corps continues to grow while we finally get a little draft luck. Either way next year is going to be exciting if Yzerman can find a way for the 25-26 team to have 4-5 rookies playing and growing all season. |

I appreciate where you’re coming from, and you’re certainly not alone in the sentiment. I would love to see Larkin hit 30, Kasper hit 20. Kane is insanely close to 500 goals so hoping we get one more year. Love that 2nd line with Kasper in the middle. There is a lot to like in the pipeline. Hoping they open part of the post draft rookie camp at LCA to the public. No shame in being excited for what’s coming up. I appreciate the drop in, as always. Without you guys I don’t get to do this. |

@Jeremy: shoot me your shirt size. We fly Monday morning and will be back on 21 Apr. I'll mail the jersey when we get back, as long as I can find one (not expecting it to be an issue...). Will have interwebs access, so if I run into any issues, will message you.
Listen, am I disappointed to not have made the SCPO? Yeah, can't hide that. But the reality is, making it would've probably done more harm that good. Not to mention, we most-likely would've been hammered in the 1st rd, the only "good" of it would've been to appease the fan-base but they'd be upset at not making it outts the 1st rd (I know, any given team can win on any given day, blah blah blah...).
The last post had some VERY good anaysis about the season ending and the road ahead. I really wanna see ASP. I see him as kind of a Hutson type....on the surface. Could change the entirety of the team. Kasper's proving himself. The road ahead looks very good for us. Very good.
Hoping GR rocks the cup, this year. They have a great team and should be a power-house. Add in guys like Tuimisto, Wally, Danielson, etc... and this will definitely help mature them amd give them a boost for camp. I'm not sure how many guys could make the big club, but I really want to see The Captain make a bold move this off-season. We need a big named stud to help us turn the corner....this club has a solid core that can be a force to be rekoned with, and we finally have a solid coaching staff that have had a positive impact on this team. Now, I'm gonna say, I want Kane back. Yeah, he's losing a step, etc... but he changes the complexity of the game when he's on the ice. And he has a ton to teach the kids.... |

I’d love to see Detroit trade for Isaac Howard. Former gm ties, guy wants to play and isn’t happy with Tampa… seems like a good fit for Larkin/raymond

I love the take, and thanks for the compliment! Griffs lost last night but Lombardi made an awesome p;ay on their lone tally. Love this kid! |
