Flyers now control their own destiny. Lose in regulation on Thursday and the Flyers will enter the lottery with the 4th pick. Please get the job done.

I think they can finish no worse than 5th since Boston played their final game and we have the tiebreaker over them.

NHL.com has them ahead of the Bruins with the same number of points. Bruins have more regulation wins so maybe they’re going off percentage?

Yeah, I think it's because the Flyers have a game left and the Bruins don't. If they lose in regulation on Thursday I think they will get that 4th from the bottom spot.

The Flyers have the third worst amount of regulation wins, only SJ and CHI have less. If the Flyers finish with the same amount of points as any other teams after 82 games played, Flyers will pick lower then any team. Flyers lose in regulation Thursday, they finish 4th, does not matter if SEA and BOS are tied with them at 76 points.

Unless this game goes to overtime which I doubt because neither of these teams will be playin all that hard, the Flyers will be picking either 4th or 7th.

As long as they don’t lose a spot because of the lottery, the Flyers will be able to draft one of Hagens, Frondell, Martone, Desnoyers, or OBrien. Even if they do lose one spot, I expect one of Buffalo or Seattle to reach on Mrtka.

Hagens or Frondell are my top two choices. Even taking Jett last year, they need more centers in the pipeline. Thankfully, it looks like they’ll be more than a few to choose from.

no worries. They will win against buffalo and pick 7th overall. Both will be off the board. 4th pick to 7th in a week.....well done boys.

They absolutely will be picking 7th but I wouldn’t mind OBrien or Desnoyers. Don’t think the gap between those two and Hagens and Frondell is that much. It’s seems that there is no consensus on the centers between 3-7.

Curious to see if Briere pushes for the better draft pick on Thursday. I hope they start Kolosov and I believe that will show Briere is aware of the importance of a higher draft pick over placating the room. Shaw has no authority naming the starting goaltender, IMO. He wants the job permanently (I hope he does not get it) there is no way he will go against the recommendation of the GM.

With Schaefer still the overwhelming favorite to go first, I do wonder how far Martone will fall. Wingers in the mold of the Tkachuk brothers tend to go quickly. The lack of consensus with the center rankings, I do believe Martone will not make it out of the top 5. If by the slim chance the Flyers get lottery luck and Schaefer is on the board when they pick, he must be the pick. It has been sooooo long since the Flyers have played a franchise Dmen, it is easy to forget how much one player can control the game from the blueline. No offense to Sanheim, he is not that guy.

if caleb and frondell are both gone, for some reason i see them going for McQueen or Mrtka.

Central scouting's final prospect rankings for North American Skaters is very interesting. Top 10:

1. Schaefer
2. Misa
3. Hagens
4. O'Brien
5. Mrtka
6. Martone
7. Desnoyers
8. McQueen
9. Aitcheson
10. Bear

O'Brien seems to be the late rising prospect that seemingly happens every draft. I do like O'Brien as a fit for the Flyers.

That’s why I won’t be distraught when they win Thursday as long as they don’t fall to 8. Other people like Sportsnet and Pronman have Desnoyers 3rd overall and Hagens down to 5. If they stay in the top 7 they would really have to try and screw this up. That being said I thought if they stayed in the top 13 last year they couldn’t screw it up either but they certainly did.
