Yeah that was really cool. The solo from that song is catchy.

No, I loathe seven strings and I also dislike alternate tunings.

Sadly, they're often crutches for cruddy guitar players.

Seven strings are fine if for some reason you have to have the low B but I generally agree on that. Alternate tunings are only practical, IMO, if you're transposing music from some other instrument to the guitar. Sometimes you have to if you want the piece to be playable. Essentially, both are only good in their place, otherwise, they are crutches. Anyway, the only reason I ask is b/c I've never played one and I've always been curious.

Yeah there are reasons to use alternate tunings that I respect. Some slide players get amazing stuff out of open chord tunings for example.

I've played seven strings before but I've always found the lowest string to be in the way and useless for anything I want to play. Meh, if you want to get into seven string sweeps or tapping seven string arpeggios I guess you'll have no choice though.

It's funny, the more guitar stuff I buy the more I find I just play my ESP and Ibanez super strats through my Marshall. I have all kinds of crap I just wish I'd never bought. lol

I have 4 guitars. 2 classical, 1 Fender strat, and a POS Sauer steel string acoutic. I've had the one classical since I was 14 and it's still my main guitar. I wouldn't give it up for the world and I can't bring myself to make her #2. The strat is my #2 and it's ok. The other 2 are just extra. I have 2 Peavey amps too, one big and one little. I really only use the little one and I don't like either of them. Stupid electric amps.

I really like the direction this thread has taken.

This is my usual axe:

I have about 12 guitars or so. I'll spare you listing all of them.

Since I couldn't find a model holding my guitar, here's a model I'd like to hold my guitar:

I also have an original Gibson Les Paul Jr. (now called an SG) from the 1960's but I rarely take it out. It still works like new but it's worth over $8000 US so I try to leave it alone.

Nice little piece of Hardware you have there.

My guitars are all fairly cheap, I'm not very good and play only once in a while...

I never liked Gretsch guitars. It's uncomfortable like Rickenbackers are.

and the reason that model {or anyone else} is not holding your guitar {or anything else } is because you spent all your money on guitars and can't afford to ask her on a date.
