When I walk into the Wachovia Center for a Joel concert, it's like when I walk into there for a Flyers game... there are old folk -- like me -- who've followed him/them from the start, there are people born in the '70s who are there loving him/them just as much, and there are children of the '90s who are singing along with every song or cheering every rush, loving him/them just as much... Good products span all time periods; some of the groups of today will be just as easily forgotten as most of those who started out along side Billy... Come back to the HockeyBuzz forum twenty years from today and start another one of these threads and I'll bet you that all those other songs from all those other artists will not be submitted, and Billy's will still be.

Clear as mud... Billy has never stopped being popular; he merely stopped writing 'new' pop songs. Joel, at least on the East Coast of the US, is a major attraction whenever he decides to tour... he has multiple sellouts most everywhere. He performed in Rome at the Colleseum on New Yeras and has had a great World tour in Europe and Asia... He cannot have enough shows in Philly and NYC, and draws crowds of ALL ages to those cities from mile around... Yada, yada, yada.
