I grew up in the Napster era. We didn't buy albums. We just downloaded the songs we liked.

Where do you buy it? Why not just buy from iTunes or some poop?

mp3panda.com and sites like that.

i buy from itunes when i get a gift card or whatever but i just wait until someone tells me about another commie site popping up where you get albums for $1.25 or songs for .20 and buy from there.

they routinely get shut down but you just wait for another to come along.

eventually EO will shut them all down and i will turn to itunes exclusively.

I did one a year or two back and I got almost everything right, even the 320kbps vs lossless stuff. My hearing is not great so that part sort of surprised me. The lower bitrate vs 320 or lossless tests were super obvious, I think you'd notice as long as you have a good setup to listen to it with.

I can't find the one I did but this looks ok

I honestly feel bad for the younger generation who never got to experience going to a record store.

Going through all of the bands (labeled A-Z) and looking through the CD's or records they had. LP's, EP's, live, or imports.

Nothing like getting home and unwrapping the new purchase and reading the liner notes that are never included today with downloads.

yeah it is a shame

i was always huge liner notes guy. probably would not have dug Ok Computer as much initially at age 14 or whatever if it weren't for how awesome the liner notes were

I feel bad for myself that I have to listen to music that's gone through severe dynamic range compression. I blame Oasis for this.

i don't think they'll (i feel real old saying "they'll") ever understand it since they can't really do it now but it actually was a fun thing to do.

when i was growing up i had dates where all we did to go out was go to a diner and then spent hours in a record store.
