i still guarantee it has some sort of unexplained resurgence by the year 2035

it's gonna be the song that plays over the credits of a multi-oscar winning movie or something

oh absolutely. songs like that are like mildew, or more appropriately, cancer. you may get rid of it but you know it's coming back eventually.

Another big hit that was released in 1999 that a young s2tp remembers:

I hated this (frank)ing song from the moment i first heard it.

And now every time it's a really hot day, my brain sings "man it's a hot one" in rob thomas' stupid voice. And it pisses me off to no end.

first of all, this is awesome news.

secondly, i am 1000% sure the couple of years leading up to the ok computer album was the most prolific period of songwriting by anyone, anywhere, in the history of the universe.

they had enough b-sides at the time to make like 17 other albums and now it comes out that there are even more songs?

- BINGO!

he spent all those years just being non-offensive little old carlos santana on the classic rock station. and then he did that brain-aids song with a whining wiener and traded in ever being able to just ride off into relative obscurity after he dies with a handful of people remembering him as "that guy that played the guitar pretty well" for the certainty of everyone remembering him as "that guy that did the brain-aids song with that whining wiener"

it's hard navigating through it all though because it comes in like 18 different mp3s. they didn't split each track into its own file, each file is like an hour of poop.

either way crims is gonna lose his poop when he gets ahold of this lol. it's a goldmine

edit:

found this track listing spreadsheet on reddit. seems accurate

they should have just put it out as an album and laughed while all the critics wrote about how they "returned to their r00ts" with this album.

also, there was a day within the past week where i almost started a b-side thread but i didn't because

a. i didn't want to trample the dong of the gay thread

b. i couldn't decide which song was going to be my first post, the trickster or bishop's robes

sometimes i wonder if bands hate making money. or maybe they are just embarrassed by these songs and that is why they didn't release them?

a b-sides thread would probably be as successful as a black lodge thread but it couldn't hurt to try

i also wondered if anybody even knows what a b-side is anymore.

when i was a kid (*shakes fist in the air*) bands released cd singles with a b-side just like the old records would have. now we all just download songs so a song is a song is a song.

the record store i frequented had an entire 8 foot section of wall dedicated to radiohead CD singles and b-side compilations. which is probably how they ended up being the record store i frequented.
