A sampling of The Who's legendary Live at Leeds album from 1970. To me, it's the greatest live rock recordings of all time, and it's the only one of their live albums which included Keith Moon on the drums.

The original vinyl LP only had 6 tracks, and only three of them were renditions their own songs; the B side only containing extended versions of My Generation—really an improvisational medley with parts of See Me, Feel Me and Sparks from Tommy, among others—and Magic Bus. The other three were covers, but they were awesome renditions. The Who were phenomenal on stage during this period in time in the band's existence, especially when applying their style to others' music.

The good news is there have been re-releases of the album over the years. The best is the 4-disc 40th Anniversary Edition, which includes not only their entire set list (in order of performance) from the concert, but also their set list from their concert in Hull recorded on the following day from the Leeds performance. Both concerts included their hard rock concert arrangement of Tommy.

But back to the covers. These two are my favorites:
