I don't think any team deals with the same level of negativity as the Leafs.
- Feeling Glucky?

No team has been so bad, so so long, as the leafs. Never mind the fact they have the longest Stanley Cup Finals drought among current teams, while having the most resources of any team in the league.

And you listen to the Ottawa media everyday.

Enough to know they are much bigger cheerleaders for the Sens than the Toronto media is for the Leafs.

The Chicago media isn't as hard on the Cubs. 106 years and counting...

It is important to understand why that may be happening.

According to many it isn't happening.

Do you not think the Leafs are facing a negative backlash, especially from the media?

Well, this was started by your comments about the Toronto media...

Read that article yesterday, typical article written by a toronto based writer, for a toronto based readership to divert their attention away from the mess that the leafs are. Means nothing in the grand scheme of things.

So, it begs the question, do you listen to the Toronto media on a daily basis?

I do, but it's been this way for quite awhile. Pat Quinn's 100 point teams were ripped-apart pretty good.

I was commenting on the article that was in the Globe & Mail, and many toronto centrist articles are carried in the two local players. I also listen to leafs lunch sometimes, but a few time a week I listen to Tim & Sid, Prime Time Sports with Bob McCown and Hockey Central at Noon.

So I hear my fair share.

If you listen to those shows, how in the world can you think the media are Leaf homers.

When did I ever say that?

You're the one who said that about the Ottawa media, so perhaps you've mixed things up?

From the time I get up, I listen to news talk radio, Sports talk radio for most of the day.

After listening to the Local sports talk in the Morning, I sometimes listen to the Montreal sports talk radio and then local news talk radio up till noon.

Then I'll listen to some toronto sport talk stations during the afternoon, read the two local papers and in the evening I'll listen to CBC radio for a couple of hours.

I prefer sports talk / News talk over music while listening to the radio.

Fair enough.

I guess I would get bored of the media pumping up the Sens to some level that they're nowhere near all day too.

Someone needs to call some scientists, or mathematicians. Canucks, Habs, and Oiler fans have all said similar things. Somehow, I manage to spend 388% of my time on HB talking about other teams. I guess I spend -288%, at the very least (very most, technically) talking about the Leafs?

Well the Morning Show starts to repeat themselves after the first couple of Hours, as the audience changes, and that's when I move to the Montreal station, and then move to the News Talk station until noon.

No, they don't pump up the Sens as you would have us believe. The coverage is typical of what you'd be hearing in toronto when they talk about the leafs raptors etc.

The Montreal station is pretty good too, talking about the Habs.

An odd statement to make when you start by making a comment about a “typical Toronto article”. Now the Ottawa coverage is typically the same? I’m not sure what your point was, or what it was trying to be, to be honest.

I will say, it's hard to look at a page like this:

http://www.ottawasun.com/sports/hockey/senators

And think they're not doing any tire pumping.

From Colin Greening playing with confidence, to the Ottawa Senators being confident about their western road trip, to Erik Karlsson being Mr. February , to Garrioch talking about slim playoff chances (hysterical. there has been no hope since December), Matt Puempel the bestest, young Sens goalie the bestest, etc, etc, etc.

for a team that's been done and gone for a couple of months now, if you were to go through these headlines and articles, you'd get the impression they should be looking to make some deadline moves to put them over the top, for that elusive first ever Stanley Cup.

I respond to leaf fan like yourself, who see it as their life mission to tear down the Better of the two Ontario based teams, to make themselves feel better about the leafs.

Someone has to set the record straight, so I don't mind doing it.

BTW, when does the scorched earth, tear down re-build start?

Trading Daniel Winnik who was an impending UFA is usual for any team not making the playoffs, not one embarking on the mother of all re-builds.

All local newspaper columnists pander to the uninformed fans in their market.

I've been telling you since the end of November that the Senators would not be making the playoffs.
