Well, look at what they got though.

Guptill, broke through last year. From the ECHL to the AHL. Not much of an asset, if at all.

Chiaisson, pretty much useless. Sent packing for other useless garbage.

Nick Paul, probably the best of the bunch, really not projecting into anything more than a depth plug at this point.

Rd 2 pick.

They really didn't get anything for him at all.

Even if Kessel got sold cheap, he still brought back far more. Spaling got packaged for more second round picks, which was used to get Andersen. Kapanen is a pretty solid prospect. Harrington turned into Rychel, another decent prospect.

If they had sold off Spezza, and fully committed to rebuilding, and maybe got a few more picks, they'd be better off, but they didn't. Teams don't that idea though. The whole "we can retool on the fly" idea is attractive, but it just doesn't work.

But as I explained, when Spezza asked for a trade, it made it harder to get a higher value back, as any trading partner knew they had the upper hand.

BTW, I think you'll be surprised at how much higher in the line up Nick Paul will peak at. Much more than a plug.

barely over a point per game as a big guy two years past his draft, underwhelming stats in the AHL.... There really isn't anything to believe he'll be effective in a scoring role.

Don't know how to use the internet?

Oh wait, you're a leaf fan .......... sorry.

So draft charts only apply when it's convenient. I take your relentuctance and shame as a waving white flag. Well done conceding defeat.

relentuctance

Still don't know what point you're trying to make. You quote a post that is more than two years old, and expect me to read your mind as to what your inferring........... well why don't you just come out and say what's on your mind ......... it should not take too much effort.

It was quite simple. Update the chart you started and do one for the Sens. Can't be anymore simple than that.

Dorion envisions Phaneuf and Ceci staying together this year and both playing over 20 minutes.

@67sound not news, tho. This is Melnyk's "plan." That's why we got to unload Dion's deal on them.

If things start to go wrong this season for the Sens...its going to be fun

Well, if it's that simple, then you should be able to tackle it, as it's you that wants it updated (from over two years ago).

Another year, another coach fired, another unhappy captain, another Melnyk meltdown wondering why his team is coming nowhere near contending.

Coles notes - The Leafs have stockpiled great young players in recent years taken in the first round, while the Sens have yet to pick out and keep an impact player since Karlsson.

I just looked at the Drafting by the Sens since 2011 ...for a "rebuild" its pretty weak...not 1 blue chip prospect added

Depending on your definition of blue chip, that's correct. They'll jump up and down to tell you how great Brown, White, and Chabot are, but they did the same with Jared Cowen, talking about his high scoring hard hitting defense potential (I ALWAYS told them he wouldn't score much), Ceci, Puempel, Noesen, Lazar, and it's quite clear that none of these guys have top pairing/line potential now.

So yes, they'll spit venom saying these guys are blue chip, but the outcome will likely be the same as the rest of the fodder mentioned here.

Yes, you hope to get some TOP young players in a rebuild, and the Sens don't have a single one to show for their efforts.

Not the caliber of player you hope to get in a rebuild.

Hell, one of them is gone. You know, the one you were telling us was done growing and would never be more than he is now.

Then that's correct, they haven't had one in years.

It's fantastic having several of them.

It's almost like I started by saying it depends what you call bluechippers, and Sens fans will cry out names just like they did Cowen et al.
