The sens last year were not that great and was all goaltending. They played well with the injuries but you cant just rely on goaltending all the time. Even the habs outplayed them in the playoffs and was all anderson. - jordan456789
the Habs are going to be an easy team for anyone in a 7 game series. Small and soft. Grind them down and it's an easy win. |

The sens had the advantage is goaltending and physical play but the habs dictated the play and had the majority of the scoring chances. If not for anderson (or Price falling apart) it would have been a much different series. - jordan456789

Not too sure why both the Leafs and Sens moved away from the tougher rosters they had. They're still tough but not as much as in recent years. It brought both teams success. And the Habs actually added toughness. Of course, there is still a huge gap, and the Habs are still among the softest teams in the league. Theyll never win a round in the playoffs like that. |

Yes it was 4-1 because Anderson played out of this world and Price fell apart. The habs clearly had the majority of the scoring chances.

It was 4 to 1 because the Habs got stomped like the little group of pansy smurfs they are.

Yes their goaltending was much better than ours. I am ok with that because if you generate more chances than the other team more often than not you win. Kind of like how if the leafs keep at the rate they are going they may fall out of the playoffs. Giving up 50 shots/game is not a good thing.

They got stomped because they're a group of soft little midgets. Can't win 7 game series like that. Easy win.
Do you really not realize that threads of every single other team were filledd with "I'd like to face the Habs in the first round." Everyone knew it was easy pickings. |

I really don't care what other fans are saying. You say they got stomped which they did on the score board but in terms of play they had the majority of the scoring chances. Habs have had a small team for years (which i know they need to fix) but still had the majority of the scoring chances and not been for goaltending could have won. The playoff appearance before that they took the cup champs to overtime game seven. The playoff appearance before that they went to the third round. Even though they are small it is not really an easy win.

It is funny the canucks are 9th in the west but with their point total would have home ice in the east. Only thing for the east is only one of those teams can make it to the finals and need to hope for a major upset.

Habs will never win a round.
The cannon fodder for the east idea is silly. The point differential is misleading. Half of the difference is a result of the teams in the west in a playoff spot having Far more three point games. Look at the stats.......

West has owned the East head to head this year. Thats the only stat that really matters. |

While that's true, it probably won't stay the huge difference it was for a while. The difference in points from west to east is a little misleading. |

Not too many eastern teams could head to head with a chicago or a la in a 7 game series, boston would be one the other...

Now many Western teams could go head to head with Boston or Pittsburgh either. You can say that about the top teams in either conference. |

I really don't see Toronto, Wash and NYR as that much of a drop off from Colorado and Minny, but that's just me. |

These three Western Conference teams rank in the top Half in the NHL based on P%
Whereas the three teams you "don't see as that much of a drop off" rank below them, with the Caps in the top Half in the NHL based on P%, the true measure of teams that have yet to play the exact same number of games.
I see a "drop off" perhaps a little larger that you do.
7 COLORADO .690
11 MINNESOTA .621
12 VANCOUVER .621
15 WASHINGTON .581
17 toronto. .547
21 NY RANGERS .484
If we looked at ROW, then there is a bigger gap between some of the teams, for example the Canucks have 17 and the leafs only 12. Granted the leafs have a number of key injuries that when these players do come back fully, I see the leafs picking up a few more wins than they have in the last few weeks. |

If some of you are inclined to think that this thread is redundant, you are probably right. I just got an IPad 2 yesterday and am trying out the screen keyboard to see if the input for text allows me to do the stuff quickly. It is actually pretty amazing. I am able to use the keyboard like a normal full key pad and the overall speed for data entry is very fast using a full five finger method for entry. I bought a case that allows me to place the pad at a slight angle similar to a conventional keypad and the spacing is actually okay even for my fat little fingers. Mrs. Spatso is a very fast typist so I had better give her a chance to key something and see if she can get a good result as well. - spatso

He's played himself into the line up.
Did not see that coming, and thought if anyone was going to come up for good, that it was going to be Borowiecki or Claesson.
His turnover last night, turned a game the Sens were carrying the play to the Wings, into a loss that may well have killed any playoff hopes the Sens had before the game.
