Nobody is afraid of Chris Neil either.
- HonkFortheGoose

Chris Neil is a much better fighter, hitter, agitator and has more of an ability to chip in offensively than Kaleta.

I (frank)ing hate Chris Neil.

Bone crushing hits can be delivered cleanly without penalty......
Ask Mike Sauer or De Costa or Kaleta for that matter......Kulemin destroyed him nice and clean

- jimdavis

This league is poorly officiated and without question boring and becoming a league for panzies...

Joining the party late, but I don't get it. The blog seems to paint Kaleta as a victim, but the video clearly shows him to be a predator, and a dirty one at that. Am I missing something?

Kulemin hit him with a perfect open ice hit. Those types of hits change games.

Kaleta only hits people who are already against the boards, takes himself out of the play. He is an ineffective hockey player.

Kaleta used to bring two things to the table. He would deliver hard hits and as a result, draw retailation penatlies.
After becoming a regular on the team for doing this he tried rounding out his game by killing penalties and chipping in goals. He did manage to do both of those things occasionally - but not consistently. Therefore when he wasn't injured, he reverted back to his forte.
Unfortunately for him, his hits now usually ride the line of being legal/illegal and instead of drawing penalties, he takes them himself.
Between this and his being injured frequently, he really isn't useful, even as a 4th line guy. Sorry Patty.

Since it's already open season on goalies, might as well be. Did Lindy call this one too?

This whole team is a bunch of 3rd and 4th liners. Spector posted that the Habs might move Cammalleri.

If you watch the NFL good god that is bad officiating. Often times its like the NFL and its refs dont even know the sport.

Like every sport the NHL makes mistakes on calls. I don't think the NHL has bad officiating, but some bad rules. Instigator rule, trapezoid rule and such.

The only time I get mad at officials in the NHL is when we play in Montreal and dudes are flopping all over the ice and getting the calls.

lol......I'm sorry......you like minimal skill and bench clearing brawls. Ok. Perhaps you should switch your hockey games for UFC events. It might take you back to the glory days of what "Hockey" used to be. Welcome to the new age sir.

I agree that the hit on Grabovski was a good hit, but if Kaletta wasn't such a moron (based on past history), he would be able to distribute those hits without getting penalties.

there is not a player today who could score like Esposito or Gretzky...... The Canadiens had 4 lines that could score. Sabre Canadien games were always a 7-6 , 6-5 game with endless skating and pure hockey. Fights were not necessarily the key (you brought that up not me). Goalies did not have equipment that made them 8' wide........ So I hope you enjoyed the insults you threw at me... It seems that is all you can do...... Troll back to the Leafs blog please............

Are you serious? Ive loved hockey since I could talk, but the quality of play is horrible........and you say never been better. I tried watching the Caps-Pens game last night. I was bored to tears. Not an inch of room out there, skill players have no time to do anything with the puck, you're not allowed to hit anymore and fighting is at an all time low. The NHL is void of superstars, good players sure, superstars hardly any unlike the NBA and NFL where there are superstars making plays all over the field/court. The NHL stinks these days.
