He isnt a good, Jody Shelley is a goon, there is a difference.
- Homer

Yes he is the only thing he is good for is takeing a stupid jack ass penatly every game that costs us a goal. The guy does nothing usefull other then trying to run every player over he can every chance he gets. Ok sorry he is not a goon he is useless. The guy is a cookie cutter hockey player that can be replaced in a heart beat by anyone. If the sabres ever want to be competitive they need to replace the grinders on this team since half the team are exactly that.

Cammalerri is not a playmaking center, he's a shoot first scorer, that has done anything but score this year. Or last year for that matter.
- Allstarzz

Well the Sabres could use a change of pace, all these guys do now is look for the pretty pass all the time. It's maddening. I'm not saying go after Cammalerri but they need some one more than Vanek and Pommer who actually shoot the puck on a consistent basis.

I dotn see the hat for 36, especially from sabre fans, at least he tries to stir up poop out there....nobody else even looks like they care.

Gerbe does. I feel like he's the only one who cares. I'm also highly amused that Kessel looked terrified of him the other night.

At least he plays with emotion and tries to do something. The rest of the team (minus Gerbe) looks lifeless out there.

With a certain percentage of the fan base. I'm not going to claim that he's universally beloved by Sabres fans, as he obviously isn't, but when there have been as few Sabres from WNY over the years (I can only think of Tim Kennedy and Rory Fitzpatrick as other guys from WNY), he automatically becomes somewhat of a fan favourite.

Sorry but emotion does not win hockey games when it comes from a cookie cutter player that does nothing ueseful other then help the other team by giving them more power plays.

I'm pretty sure none of those guys have been a fan favorite. Do we think it's fun to watch guys play in the NHL that are from Buffalo? Yes. Doesn't mean they're a fan favorite. Kennedy tried playing that card and got himself a one way ticket out of Buffalo and none of the fans here seemed to think the club was out of line. It also looks to have been the right move seeing as how he can't crack a roster anywhere else.

And playing without emotion does win games? Have you been watching the same team I have the last few weeks?

I could care less where a player comes from as long as they dont suck. In his case he has and always will suck. Gaustad is the same exact mold as kaleta except he can actualy do 2 things more then keleta which is win faceoffs and win the occasional fight. Leave it to the sabres to pay 2.5 mill to a 4th line faceoff guy.

Im referring to 1 player not the team. And I have been watching the sabres and have not missed 1 game in 26 years.

I know, I know facts have no place here.........but let's pretend they do.

"takeing a stupid jack ass penatly every game that costs us a goal" --umm, in his last 14 games he has taken a penatly in 7 and no PIMS in the other 7. That's a penalty in 50% , not 100% of his games...and certainly they always, matter of fact most dont cost us a goal.

"The guy does nothing usefull other then trying to run every player over he can every chance he gets" Yes, that's right....that's he job, he is supposed to do that. Oh, and he also kills penalties, goons don't kill penalties.

"If the sabres ever want to be competitive they need to replace the grinders on this team since half the team are exactly that" ----36, 37, 8 and 28 are grinders, that's not half the team. I could use less of 37 so if you keep 28, 8 and 36 as "grinders" I'm fine with that, that's 25% of your forwards, one line. Just like most if not all teams have. What we have way to many of is skilled players who arent that skilled and aren't playing well enough, its not the grinders fault.

yeah, I think Gerbe tries anyway...or is it because he is 5'4 that anytime he puts forth a nice effort everybody loves it just cause he is so small?

I don't see it that way. I think sometimes he has to push back a bit harder because he's small, but at the same time he's always out there hustling and trying to make something happen. I feel like he's always moving his feet and working hard.

What ever dude the player sucks and you can defend him all you want with your facts but the only fact that matters is he sucks and can be replaced by anyone without any drop in any time of playing ability.

Gerbe has more balls in all 5'4 of him than in five Derek Roys.

I, for the most part, agree with you. I just think people tend to give him a lil more credit than he deserves just because he is so small. But I have nothing against him.

That affection for local products isnt' different across the league, of course. If I could type that in French I could coach the Habs I think.

He once was extremely effective, this season he's borderline effective, and if he gets the marginal stuff going against him he'll be completely replaceable, with the exception that he sells 2x the jerseys of your average 4th line grinder.

We have players in our top 6 earning 10x the salary of Kaleta who aren't earning their paychecks (paycheques) either, so I'll file this just above zamboni maintenance in the list of things that upset me about the Sabres.

Yes, I use facts and you jst say he sucks over and over. You wouldnt make a very good lawyer.

He's a fourth liner, he isn't out there to pump in 20, he is out there to do exactly what he does.
