You know you've stayed up too late to write something when the headline implies that a team won 2 games in one night.

They say games get bigger this time of year but this is getting ridiculous.

Have the Sharks ever scored the first goal of the game? Like ever?

They did, in a manner of speaking. The first time they won the game the official made the worst kind of call you can make and took away an obvious goal. So they won it again in the shootout.

They had an overtime goal waved which was clearly a goal. Jokinen hit Kipper and the ref thought it was a sharks player and waved it off!

You have to give credit to McLellan for putting Burns in a shootout. That was totally unexpected, nice move too.

Well Cam, yeah that call in overtime was a bad call, wont disagree, but the BS is we got zero powerplays & one that should have been called was the slash/trip on Iggy behind your net just before the tying goal. So the refs suck both ways. Was a good game & Flames really didnt look like a team everyone thinks they should blow up, if they played like this consistently in Nov/Dec, we would be 5th-6th seed.

Blowing a penalty call is one thing....waving off the goal from the neutral zone when there's a referee 15 feet away is completely ludicrous.

I say give them 4 points for both of the wins last nite.

Also, let's not forget that in today's NHL a shootout win is not as valuable as a regulation/OT win since in the standings during tiebreaking shootout wins aren't counted as wins. So even though we got two points yesterday, big picture, we still got screwed.

No, because if we get a power play, the game could have been 2-0 & possibly that game tying goal doesnt happen. Then you guys get dyyick! Was still a great game & either team deserved to win that one.

Not something I want to debate, and it doesn't really matter, I doubt the tiebreakers will matter...

What you are talking about is the difference between a mistake that MIGHT have led to a score by your team with plenty of time to go and an obvious bad call made by the wrong person that would have ended the game.

May be Eklund himself paid us a visit, who knows.
