While I think you're severly overrating what we can get for Roy (I'd be happy as a pig in poop for a 2nd round pick for him), your idea is correct.

Anything and everything that Buffalo does needs to be geared towards drafting Mikhail Grigorenko this year. We need to stock picks and be ready to make the deal that will land this C in our organization.

I hope you're right. If they can get a 1st rounder for Roy, then Grigorenko is practically a Sabre already.

I don't want to hear about any rumored trades until Regier has been fired.

Regier is probably, as we speak, demanding 3 #1 draft picks for Roy, or anyone else from his beloved "core". The guy overvalues his own players and it absolutely prevents trades. This is why the Sabres can never manage to trade anything other than 2nd round draft picks.

Even worse, any player they acquire is going to be shot to hell under Ruff's insane coaching system.

Change needs to begin at the top. When a corporation is failing, you usually need new ideas from new leaders. Changing the employees won't help much.

somebody called wgr and said how darcy has not really addressed the center position post lock-out at all and said "all he does is draft wingers" it made me think of the uproar over Armia being picked and now McNeil, which we have no idea how that will turn out, obviously, but it makes the Catenacci pick even more interesting to me. i mean i know you really like him, and i've read glowing reviews, IF, and obviously this is huge, he pans out, how GD luckily would darcy have been to pass on a center in the 1st round and end up getting a gem in the 3rd, almost by accident and a lot by luck. but that still doesn't change the fact that we did draft mcneil or someone else, we'd have two slamming center prospects from this draft and that could be better in the long run.
