somebody called wgr and said how darcy has not really addressed the center position post lock-out at all and said "all he does is draft wingers" it made me think of the uproar over Armia being picked and now McNeil, which we have no idea how that will turn out, obviously, but it makes the Catenacci pick even more interesting to me. i mean i know you really like him, and i've read glowing reviews, IF, and obviously this is huge, he pans out, how GD luckily would darcy have been to pass on a center in the 1st round and end up getting a gem in the 3rd, almost by accident and a lot by luck. but that still doesn't change the fact that we did draft mcneil or someone else, we'd have two slamming center prospects from this draft and that could be better in the long run.

I told you at the beginning of the season there's a lot to love in Buffalo except Ruff.

Those are some cheap shots talking about years past. I guess you have to grab at something considering your team went out and over paid a bunch of good players as if they were great and yet has less wins this season than the Blues do at home while having the 23rd ranked pay roll. Oops.

You had to know RUff was an idiot when he was bench Max though he was the only player going against Ottawa that regularly would create scoring chances those two years you choked. I guess being a Buffalo sports fan as I once was b/c my parents are from the area must suck--always a bridesmaid never the bride. Winners of nothing more than second place.

You'll be happy to know the Blues have struggled to bury the puck, which thanks to great team defense and goaltending hasn't hurt us the past few games. I hope the Blues wipe the ice with the Sabres. If they don't it won't matter one lick.

Why???? B/c we're heading to the play offs while Buffalo is heading closer and closer to a lottery pick in a draft not considered very deep with top shelf talent.

So while your doing what we were once doing here, impatiently waiting for the draft and the next season and watching other teams battle in the play offs, know my team is on the rise while your team, up to the cap is sinking and will sink as long as you have a crappy coach.

It must be great to take shots at the coach that beat you in the finals. Just remember that empty spot on RUff's finger is occupied on Hitch's finger. Thanks to one of the greatest Blues in history--Brett Hull.

We could get roy for McNeill right now Im happy with the pick he's going to turn out to be Vanek 2.0 but it does frustrate me we have not drafted a center 2010 should of been the year ( hayes, pitlick, nelson)

Have fun with your 1st round exit this year.

Get off your soap box, St Louis hasn't had a dangerous team since 96 when they traded for Gretzky.

So your saying he's going to have an 84pt season his second year then sign a 49mil offersheet from Edmonton and take another 4yrs to become the player we all thought he could be.

I'll be happy if he turns into a 60pt player.

xm home ice was talking about the kings today

how the team has no desire to win a game 6-1, that they are content to play a low scoring game and let it be decided in OT

The teams lack of drive when they go up 1 or 2 goals to push it further is what they think is a big problem with the team. Lean on their goalies too much and unlike the wings, sharks, hawks or nucks, never push themselves to bury a team. The guy mentioned that perhaps that is why they do not hive the mindset to be playoff ready and compete with the big boys in the post season.

Reminded me an awful lot like the sabres

- navinrjohnson

Two teams I thought that would finish near the top of their respective conferences. WTF happened this year. Both teams have no clue how to score, at least the Kings know how to stop the puck.... most of the time.

truth be told darcy should have been loading up on centers in the draft the moment briere got the arbitration award

well before briere and drury walked away for nothing

That would mean he has forward thinking.

Sign Briere to an extention back in the summer of 05, he avoids arbitration and probably gets him for 3.5/4 mil over 5/6yrs.

Watching the World Jrs, it was seriously like watching Vanek when he first got here. Armia is totally disinterested until he manages to get on the scoresheet somehow, and then he skates like hell trying to get another. He goes from invisible to unstoppable.

Nothing pending, but I heard today that the phones have been very busy. Busy as they've been all year.

West coast teams mainly being talked to.

Agian, nothing pending but there is a lot of talk going on.
