A line of Turris, Vanek and Pommer would have been nice. It wouild have freed up Hecht to be on the 3rd line where he belongs. I doubt Regier was ever in the ball game on this one. |

Lindy talked poop about opposing coaches all the way throughout those 06 playoffs. Maybe it was to take some of the pressure away from his team, some of it was to rev his own team up... But either way he came across as a petty blowhard. |

I think Turris would have been nice but there was stressing reason to pick him up. Its blowing my mind to say this but the Sens and Sabres were obviously heading in 2 different directions in the standings this season. This roster can be picked apart in the off season. The Sens needed to shore up their offensive depth. If we can save our prospects for a later trade date for a number one C then its worth it.
Edit. And if the Yotes were looking for a D-man like Runblad with his kind of upside I dont think we could have provided it. Especially with how questionable our back end is nowadays. |

Sometimes a deal just lines up with what assets are needed to be moved. Trading Rundblad wasn't a popular idea to acquire Turris, but it was what was required to make the deal happen. Its working out for us so far, absolutely. Time will tell how Rundblad fairs. The kid has all the natural gifts you'd want, he just needs to put it all together. |
