While this game was enjoyable, this style of game goes the Bruins' way 8 times out of 10. The Sabres had something to prove. They did it. Now, move on. Stop trying to shed a media-created reputation that isn't going to go away even if you start a bench-clearing brawl in 8 straight games.

Agreed. Tonight was our night. If that goal doesn't get waved off who knows?

The sabres cannot maintain this style of play on consecutive nights much less the rest of the season or a 7 game playoff.

Boston could laugh this one off then come back and relentlessly pound us into submission for 8 in a row.

The rambunctious Kaleta hacked, scratched, smacked, hacked and burrowed his way underneath the skin of the Bruins from the very first shift of the game and it lasted throughout the entire raucous affair.

Sorry garth, we still have to walk past that "playground" everyday and the bully isn't going away.

The NHL is not "A Christmas Story"

Agreed on tonight. No complaints. We cannot bring that every night or in a 7 game series with these guys.

Darcy gets a few more guys and Ruff allows Kasssian to actually be Kassian and who knwos?

I wouldn't be so quick to blame Lindy for Kassian's softer play of late.

He had been playing quite the same in Rochester. I wonder if he's a little gun shy of playing his game seeing as it got him so much bad press in the OHL.

Hats off to Buff for that scoreboard beatdown. Boston didn't suck it up after the blown call on the tying goal. They had the play early on but let their emotions get the better of them...again. Seems to be the formula for alot of the B's losses this year. Their mental game is weak. I will say though that when fists were flying the vast majority landed on the faces of the Sabres. I give credit to them for standing in there and taking those shots.

I loved Kaletta's turtle though, was a nice tribute to Coach Ruff at the hands of Cam Neely. Should be a rule that you can't say a word after coming out of the shell though as it makes you look like an ass when you're tough talking after the fact.

Honestly, I think Regeir/Ruiff have taken the bite out of the dog. Lindy preaches that discipline crap way too much. Regeir was very vocal about placing Kassian on double secret probation after some off ice stuff.

This was the most feared player in junior hockey. Suddenly he's a pacifist?

Is Kaleta a puss for turtling or are the Bruins dummies for even dealing with him?

If PK has this league-wide reputation for being a turtle, why does anybody actually allow him to get under their skin knowing he won't back anything up?

From Ty Anderson's Bruins Blog:

(We now interrupt this blog for a Kaleta rant...)

Teams have instigators. Fans love instigators. The Bruins are no exception, especially when you look at Boston's love affair with Brad Marchand, but at the end of the day, Kaleta is by miles the biggest stooge when it comes to finding those pesky 'rats' of the league.

After getting his behind beat by Milan Lucic, Kaleta (bloody nose and all) pumped the crowd at First Niagara Center up. OK. I understand the sentiment behind such a gesture, Kaleta showing more heart than any of his teammates did after Lucic barreled over Miller back in Nov., but Kaleta did it once again after a pathetic turtle when faced off with McQuaid.

A sad display if there ever was one, Kaleta wanted nothing to do when faced off in a one-on-one situation with the 6-foot-4 Boston defensemen. This, of course in typical Kaleta fashion, was until teammate Mike Weber jumped into the fray. Then he really wanted to let McQuaid have it! But when Andrew Ference came in to pull Weber out of the picture, Kaleta went back to his role as Yertle the Turtle...until the referee was between him and McQuaid.

Then Kaleta, the toughest man in the world, returned to form. And he pumped the crowd up once again! Now, once again, I get it: You're a hockey player whose job is to generate energy, from your bench or from the crowd.

But how can one be satisfied with such an act of cowardice to the point where they want to be applauded? No, strike that, they want a standing ovation!

(Okay, back to your regularly scheduled program...)

Sorry Ty if we ruffled your feathers.

Kaleta is effective. He is no different then Claude Lemieux, Kenny Linesman etc. Those guys never fought. Problem is, B-LO wants him and Gaustad to be enforcers which is load they simply are not up to.

Those other guys had heavyweights around them and just played the role of agitator which can be extremely effective. Regeir never gets all the complimentary parts necessary to be successful.
