Gotcha...but you have to see it from his point of view.....he knows the team is fragile upstairs....they play lazy against the "eh" teams of the league.....they disappear for long periods of time in almost every game....they just came off a 9 game stinker....I'm sure and I hope he is much more candid with them behind closed doors.....
- UnnamedSource

I'm sure he probably is more candid behind closed doors and we all know how many times he's benched players for a mistake, especially Stalberg and Lepisto to name a few. Again, it really has nothing to do with them losing the game, just frustrating to give a game away like that and not see him show a little fire or admit to being irritated, but I realize that's probably just not his style.

JJ...Leddy got 25 TWENTY FIVE MINUTES of ice time tonight.

Meanwhile, the ONLY forwards with a + rating (Frolik and Mayers) got EIGHT minutes. Hammer was the only other player with a +.

John Scott dresses and plays TWO MINUTES. WHAT IS THE POINT?

Keith back up over 27 minutes. And while he didn't play bad, I think we can all agree he plays better at 24-25.

And Bowman trades for B. Morrison and he either stinks as a player now (and should have never been obtained) or Q won't play him because he doesn't want him to play, all indicating some form of pizzpoor management OR very horrible communication between the GM and Coach.

The GM gets the Coach a player and...well the player DOES NOT PLAY. Makes sense if the team is run by frolicking jesters.

Ten minutes too many. I think we're in agreement?

Morrison was a low risk move and they gave up nothing for him......they took a chance and clearly is not ready to play after his injury. I don't blame with Bowman for that move.....now if that is the only move after the deadline???......different conversation.

So he can have a pointless scrap between two useless players. But hey, the team plays so tough and so confident when Scott dresses, right?

I hope I never hear a bone head hawks fan tossing this crap around again.

Hold on there, Wolfie. Weren't you the guy burning Frolik in effigy last week?

Meanwhile, elsewhere in the Western Conference, STL, SJ, VAN and ANA all win in three point shootouts. PHO/CAL game also going to shootout.

No argument here. Not a good situation. And I am starting to believe they will not get any help of any significance. Bowman seems to want to try to underbid in every situation (and this is a POV coming from within the organization now—read Zawaski's blog from the other day). One thing to aim big and talk big . . . another to actually go big. Better safe than sorry? You can be safe and be sorry.
- John Jaeckel

Do you think it could be he doesn't believe this team has the make up or the horses to make a deep run in the play offs and he is waiting till the off season to make improvements considering the cap space he will have?

That is amazing...I must have been watching a different game or not watching at all. I did not get the sense that the Stars were that active!

But then again maybe that explains the Hawks absence in the offensive zone tonight!

I wonder what the take away, give aways stat showed tonight!!

Um I think the correct terminology is.....young inexperienced defenseman being asked to do to much and isn't ready for heavy minutes.

JJ. If Columbus had asked the Hawks for Leddy and a #1 or for Hjalmarrson and a #1 for Carter would you have made that deal. Have no idea what they wanted from the Hawks but Johnson and a #1 doesn't seem like much.

To Stan Bowman: No Risk! No Reward! Now is the time to make a decision as to who to keep and who you want competing for Stanley. If you do nothing or make small trades waiting another year you are drinking McD's "One Goal" Koolaid. Tired of hearing asking prices are to high . . . . .blah blah blah. This is your job title to put the BEST product on the ice competing for Stanley. One Goal = Lord Stanley.

Leddy is in over his head, and the Blackhawk organization put him there.

So hate on that before you hate on our 20 year old dman.

Hawks just flushed all the good will and vibes from 4 game streak down the Eljer. Back on the road for 5 of 6, probably without Toews.

Not good...post season slot in doubt yet again.

The time was six to eight weeks ago before the market was defined. The "successful" first half misled them into thinking they did have the horses.

Now is far too late.

LOL...I wouldn't go that far, but yea I am really down on Frolik because I don't think his effort translates into results and he always goes wide on shots. However, tonight...HIS effort did translate and he actually drove the net.

Frolik's effort has never been in question...his toughness YES, has. So Q benches him and then he gets back out there and makes an impact and gets cursory time.

YES, Frolik bothers me, but I also would have liked to see him get more chances.

OK---that's the best I can do now that you've called me out.

Not blaming Hossa for the loss, but it was a bad play on his part at that time of the game and it definitely seemed to change the momentum. Leddy looked bad on the other two goals and offensively, the Hawks didn't generate much. I know they had quite a few shots, but very few of them were high quality chances.
- RetiredGoalie

Anyone going to call out bolland for going sack less and lifting his foot up on a weak wrist shot from the point on the WINNING goal? Yet we are going to rail hossa?

Leddy isn't strong enough to o,ay p,ayoff hockey. Guy is always in la-la land far too many times. What the hell washe doing on goal1? Goal 2 he got embarrassed....I get that.

Whatever ....horrible loss, and our gm continues to do nothing. 3+ days left as the market shrinks and prices go up. Get strategy Stan! Let's add a slow, pile like souray.

I don't know what JJ's take is on this but in my opinion the hawks do not have the depth to give up a D man right now......without knowing if they will get someone you just can't give up a Leddy or Hjam if you have no other Dman coming in.

Yep. But I think there are valid questions if he is too cautious/"thrifty" to do much then. Or if he has the proper judgement. After Campbell was dealt, he did nothing with $5+ million in cap room. Hawks are paying for it now.

After tonight I'm back to worrying about the post CBA world. A cup run is a pipe dream with this lot, especially without Toews.

Break out the forks...
