Do people on here realize that we may make the playoffs....It is becoming a legit possibility.... Just based off the terribleness of other teams and are team not being as terrible as our record from the first 3/4 of the season..... - SabresOnAWarpath
Still not buying it. Even we took on a more skilled player we got smaller, our bottom six is even worse than it was before. Its going to be a miracle of most teams ahead of us literally losing us in. |

Darcy's best work since he got Heinze and Audette for the 00/01 playoff run. - dadeadhead
haha. Idk. Nothing can beat that Dumont/Gilmour trade. I was like 6 years old and I still realized we just ripped Chicago offff.. |

You did. You told me people were stupid...I just didn't think they were that stupid.
Of course, we'll never know if someone offered a 1st for Leopold. Nobody ever asked the question, so Darcy didn't have to answer. - buffalofan19
I thought it would've been Florida honestly.
Florida needs the playoffs in a bad way.
Nashville needs to show Weber and Suter they mean business.
Time will tell. |

Not sure our bottom six is worse. By adding to the top six, one current top 6ers moves down=more depth. Kassian wasn't having an effect this season. Cody is no sloutch defensively either. Other teams are losing and we like I said with a win tomorrow could be 4 out with 2 games in hand.... with almost 1/4 of the season left.... |

I'm not so sure this tells them that they mean business. It tells them that they're reckless. I'm ecstatic that Gaustad netted a first, but it doesn't mean it was a good idea on Nashville's end. |

As much as I liked what Gaustad brought to the table here, I don't know that either Suter or Weber look at him or Kostitsyn and say the club is bringing in guys to make a deep run and to show they're committed. Both of those guys as UFA at the end of the year too. I hope Nashville wasn't planning on trying to resign either of them because they're looking at a pretty busy summer otherwise. I could be wrong though. |

I think they're worse at the bottom 6 right now, but players like Gaustad are a dime a dozen. You worry about your top 6 first, and then fill in the gaps with role players. |

Problem IMO is Anaheim wants it more. That team started to click at the right time much like we did last year. |

If he wasn't a lock already. Karlsson has bent the Norris trophy over and had his way with it....twice.
If it was up to me I would but his name on the MVP ballot as well. The guy is one of the main reasons Ottawa has had such a successful season based on where they were at last season. |

We may have 2 games in hand on winnipeg, but were 5 points back on washington with no games in hand. I'm more concerned with catching them |

I am of the belief of three scoring lines. So I guess it just depends on system. Gaustad was a fourth line center to me. Best fourth line center in the league but he didn't give me enough to be my third line center....So if we go with three centers in Hodgson (whose name by the way I can't say enough ) Ennis and Roy, I think we got better in the bottom 6... |

The sad part is he may not even get a sniff at it. It seems to be the same guys every year for the most part. He certainly deserves it though. His defensive game has really cleaned up since last year too. |

We had gaps in the top 6 and the problem was scoring goals . I can understand miller letting in 3 goals a night but our top guys needed to score 4
What about the games we lost 1-0 >a good game for miller .If miller can keep the goals to a min. and Cody can help add more to the scoreboard . We will be way better |

Yea I know me too. But they are losing to the Islanders who they haven't beat once before this season. So we could be within 3 tomorrow...Then we need to take one of the Sharks/Nucks games |

They made trades that made the team better.
St Louis did nothing.
Nashville could catch them for the 4th seed. And if they get past the 1st round with that defense and goaltending they could make a deep run. |

I agree, sort of. When they need to shut someone down, they're not going to be able to. However, running three scoring lines will help aleviate that somewhat. They don't have a shut down center. As long as they don't act like they do, they should be okay for now. |

Roy, Vanek, and Afinogenov were a "3rd line" in 2007. They were very "special" defensively, and I don't mean the good kind of "special". You can get away with it when your team is that deep, like Vancouver is now. |

Yea. I really do believe in a few years or maybe even sooner that Cody will allow us not to need a true shutdown center (kind of like Drury did). He should be able to be that guy who can do it all. Not crowning him like he is Crosby or anything but he is such a multi-dimensional player. He's rare... hahaha |
