Roy, Vanek, and Afinogenov were a "3rd line" in 2007. They were very "special" defensively, and I don't mean the good kind of "special". You can get away with it when your team is that deep, like Vancouver is now. - buffalofan19
Yea but their third line with Manny, played against the number one lines of other teams at times. Roy's line would almost always see the other teams third line. The whole key to the team was Drury. You could have put anyone with him and that was your number one line...pretty sick.. |

He needs work on his defensive game and face offs. - dadeadhead
Def. faceoffs. Coach Adams will help in that dept. I am cool with his defensive game. |

Kesler has that same effect. Add the Sedin twins on another line, and you could have a monkey on skates center your 3rd line and he'd still be effective. |

Sorry but it needs work.
He also doesn't play the pk.
He just needs to put in the hard work to get better at it.
I have faith he'll do it too. |

Agreed about Kesler..but that isn't really all that true. Last year in the playoffs the Canucks could have used Hodgson on their third line. It struggled. |

He is 22 . Lots of learning to be had . Thing is he already has the mind set and skills. Hope he keeps learning and doesn't fall into the Lindy . |

This has nothing to do with this forum but i found this website, and had a thought. lets say the sabres get a top 10 pick ,lets say 7th and you have Nashvilles pick, that's probably anywhere from 20-25th.look into the second round Buffalo has 2 picks(Buffalo and Calgary) so probably 2 pick in the top 15.If i were the sabres lets trade that Nashville pick and Buffalo's Second round for a top 3 pick maybe throw in Roy or something.Get Mikhail Grigorenko with the first pick, then with the 7th get Alex Galchenyuk.
Just a thought. Here's the website if anybody wants to check it out.

That's kind of why I think he should play on a line with Pommer. Pommer is so good at positioning that he could learn a thing or two from him. Plus then he's not as much of a liability because Pommer is already covering the defensive aspects of things. Gives him a little more room to work without worrying. Kinda like when Briere was here. |

If we're drafting in the top ten and want to move up, that pick will have to be included.
I can't remember a team having a top 3 pick going into the draft and trading out of the top ten for a bottom 3rd of the draft pick, a 2nd and a player.
like the idea just not realistic. |

Cody is a very good young hockey player, but I would wait a bit before I anoint him a star in the making. I don't doubt that you'll be very happy with him, but he still has some holes in his game or else he would still be here.
I'm not speaking from a sour grapes perspective, just probably have a more realistic view of him than most Canuck fans. That said, I wouldn't be surprised if he's your captain someday. I think it's his intangibles that you'll really come to appreciate. |

He'll be with Pominville by the 2nd period, and then with Brad Boyes and Matt Ellis in the 3rd. It's how Lindy Ruff rolls. |
