You're 100% right last summer he brought in Rolston, Staios, Reasoner and Pandolfo...A job well done Garth... - kear20
Bringing in 4 players (weather they worked out or not) can not be construed as "sitting on his hands"

This team is fine, the next step is getting veterans that are worth a damn instead of the traffic cones we got out there now. A new arena would help that situation tremendously.
If Bailey's play of late is a glimpse of whats to come CONSISTENTLY next year we are in for a treat, hes stepped his game up a lot throughout the year.
Okposo I still have faith in Grabner needs to work on a breakaway move.

what we need + what has been available + what we can afford to trade = doesn't add up

"We, era,(think voice of mayor joe quimby) will doo aw doo dilligence and if the right scenario presents itself we will make the move, if we believe it will improve the team. Excuse me, there's fresh chowda being served."
Garth's got his ass covered. He's thinking job stability. WhereTF does he go after this? I will give him good marks for drafting some diamonds in the rough, tho, his inability to make a major trade gets him a big fat "F" overall. This team is not better than the team that last went to the playoffs. I think we have more talent but this team would lose to Coach Nolan's Islanders 2 outta 3. |

How many teams actually make a big trade every year? Almost never, ever happens. GM's are starting to realize that in those "big trades", if you're getting the best player in the deal you're like overpaying by a lot. See: Rick Nash's asking price. The Rangers would have had to dismantle their team for the present and the future for the Jackets to move Nash. Everyone here needs to realize that these "absolutely life or death trades we so desperately need" are more than likely not going to happen. Not because Snow is a bad GM, but because we'd have to either A) give up prospects we can't afford to lose B) give up roster players that we can't afford to lose because nobody is ready to take their place or C) find a team that wants to move a young, talented roster player which is tremendously unlikely. |

"So & so just got traded from Them to Them for those guys.. We could have offered that+ .. Snow sucks"

Some of the demands for trades in here are ridiculous. I think some people just want to make moves for the sake of making moves which is moronic. My personal favorite is when someone gets all riled up and says "WHY CAN'T WE OFFER X, Y, AND Z FOR PLAYER A" when player A won't ever be traded. (Read: Patrick Kane) I get the frustration, I have it too, but to get angry over a trade not happening when one team won't even field offers is asinine. |

I guess here comes the ..."Bailey another goal in a meaningless game" argument. Pandolfo and Reasoner are awful and need to go. Andy Mac getting beat on a set play like that is just absurd. He looks so lost out there lately.. very upsetting. I can't believe the step back he took this year. great game by Nabby.. he stole this game for the Isles. (so nice to see Rolston on another team...and Mottau). |

We should have traded him b/c there is a very good shot he doesn't sign. I feel we have a better than 50% shot at PA. Nabby everyday he does not sign it becomes more of a long shot. I hope I am wrong. |

LOTS of teams sign free agents that arent what was expected.
Snow has signed some good, some bad... just like any other GM.
XxNYIxX - XxNYIxX
OK, so you're saying you were expecting Mike Mottau, Brian Rolston, Jay Pandolfo to do well and succeed? The only one who you can argue about is Reasoner bcs he was a more consistent player before hand, those guys were done by all accounts before sighning here. Besides Streit name me one sighning where he improved the team and don't mention the "throwing shat at the wall" players and "see if it sticks" who we all know were shots in the dark like Moulson and Paranteu. The guy has top start improving this team, HE has not done that and you know it! |

Well if he is agressive nobody is listening? I don't care what the reason is. Bring in a GM who is capable of sighning NHL caliber FA's or making a trade that can be considered making an improvement. If he can't he is not a capable GM. |

How do we know its Wang? Snow has continuously stated and be quoted as saying he is control and this is his team. If that were'nt the case he should just keep his trap shut like he does with everything else. He has no problem doing that and should continue to do so. He should not get a pass. |

Does not have to be a "big" trade, make a trade or a sighning that improves this team drastically. He has not done that. Thats his job, thats what he gets paid to do. He is not doing his job. |

I'm certainly not saying to make a trade for the sake of making a trade. Make a trade or sighning to improve a team that has picked in the top five three years in a row! It ain't rocket science, he's a GM. Its his job |

well said.
I think however we can all agree that the Isles need to be more aggressive at upgrading roster, especially defensively this offseason and add some gritty 3rd or 4th line player(s) |
