i thought so too, i wouldnt mind keeping him as a 7th d man. Maybe even over weber as a 6th, but lets not get ahead of myself yet its only been a few games - gerbe42
I know Weber does have a tendency to make 1 bonehead play a game, but I feel like he has really started to play well of late.

I was at work, so I didn't see the second goal. I just watched the replay and it looked like he tried to poke the puck off of a stick and missed so the guy blew right by him in the neutral zone.
I have no problem with Ruff consulting his players, I hate being run ruff shot over it is good to be consulted the coach could still if he wants to change the lines, but maybe he saw from Roy in the conversation that he liked his body lanaguage.
To be completely honest are best center the past 5 games has been leino... Maybe its because he is playing other teams third lines "like CoHo in Van" but why not give him a shot at the 1st line? The guy seems to be getting into a groove and becoming confident in his play. Also why not shake it up and put Vanek on the 2nd line and move up ennis? Or put leino on the second line and CoHo on the 1st.
Lines could look like this
Ennis Leino/CoHo Pomer
Vanek CoHo/Leino Stafford
Boyes Roy Gerbe
Kaleta Ellis Tropp
I know this changes things up a bit but it sickens me to see boyes who in my opinion hasn't been given the chance to play top 6 minutes on the 4th line. Boyes Roy Gerbe could really spark it up. Regardless of how bad this season is statistically for Boyes he still has more skill in his finger then Ellis does overall "Not a big ellis fan and I think he should be in the ahl where he belongs!".

Offensively brutal team and still too many turnovers. They should have steamrolled the Canes.
Sulzer got the puck on the net, broke up a few plays, had at least one nice breakout pass and didn't make any glaring mistakes. He's already better than Weber and Sekera !

a couple of wins here and a couple of games that we lose goes to ot there and we are second in the east
as bad as this team has been playing
the gap between a cup contender and a fringe playoff team is so small these days
perhaps it's the extra point for ot losses - homiedclown
I was thinking about that looking at the standing last night. Say we don't lose to the Islanders 2-1 at home a few months ago and we don't crap the bed against Columbus and we play well in one other stinker this season, we're right behind Ottawa chasing Boston for the division lead. It's equal parts frustrating and encouraging.

It seems logical to think like that but what if the Sabres lose against the Ducks and Sharks like they probably should have?
