Rangers - Lost 3
Penguins - Won 8
Flyers - Won 5
Devils - Won 3

The Rangers certainly aren't getting ANY kind of help from these teams, so they had better bring a strong effort tomorrow night to make sure they get the 2 points.

It's 05-06 only we have more games left to make sure it doesn't happen again.

05-06 the Rangers actually went 5-1 in six games, then lost 5 straight in regulation to close out the season, before the dreadful 4 game sweep in the playoffs to the Devils.

The 1991 Rangers, the team that added Weight and Amonte for the playoffs (hello Kreider), lost 8 straight games from March 7th to March 23rd and ultimately lost in 6 to Washington and John Druce in the first round.

Right now I feel things are a bit more like that 91 team.

The '06 Rangers were a one man show, Prucha wasn't the same since injury before Olympics and Jagr was stifled when the checking got tougher towards end of season. That team was an older team pieced together in the days of the post lockout.

We got a 7 game home stand starting tonight, this team needs to figure out how to win again instead of finding ways to lose.

maybe? you never know

if the next CBA lowers the cap, the Rangers may need to have more young guys with low salaries make the squad.

My guess is St. Croix will play one more year in juniors though.

Man Hockey is quite the roller coaster ride eh?

For the most part this season has been uphill for the Rangers...

If Richards were to score 20 points in 16 playoff wins (0 losses) then we'd all forget about his miserable games in the regular season

With record setting revenues, a monstrous TV contract with NBC sports and big market teams about to flex their muscles regarding the cap I personally feel the cap will be going up.

Entry level contract dollars will probably go down and there may be an amnesty buyout. I just don't see how the big markets who have built good teams want to subsidize the small market teams with the players they have paid to develop. Its not good or fair for them.....or their fans.

well, especially here, we have ticket prices going up outrageously, it certainly sucks to see the team have to spend less on players while charging us more to go to the games.

What they really need to do is lower the cap floor. Some of these teams in these smaller markets should not be forced to spend well over 40 million a year where their revenues don't even come to that.

Agreed... I think with ticket prices going up next year I think we'll see less people showing up to games next year. It's really outrageous. Last year against small market teams you could get tickets for 40 bucks on ticket exchange.

I paid 70+ to see the Rangers play Columbus one night. I know it also has to do with the Rangers record this year possibly, but come on. That is a little nuts.

Not good, maybe he came back too soon? This really is as insane as it sounds a must win game. They need to exert their game & be very physical right away. Cally being out just makes that point more difficult.

I don't see this as 1991 or 06 all over again. Mostly because Torts is a better coach than both Roger Neilsen & Renney were. The team hit the inevitible wall here as was expected at some point. I firmly believe they will get their game back & get back on track. They are still 1st overrall in the East btw.

Should recall Erixon as well. MDZ needs rest and Girardi could use some as well.
