His original hit had to do with him having a bonus for playing 82 games, which he did not (and now cannot). Also, I don't believe he can achieve any of the other rookie bonuses built into the entry level deals.

Bryzgalov wasn't criticized for not making saves where he had no chance. He was criticized for not making the routine stops, for the lack of consistency in his game. That had nothing to do with the defenseman. And every thing to do with Bryzgalov.

I'm quite sure that getting used to playing with new team mates in a new system had something to do with the lack of confidence with which he played. I fully expected him to turn it around, but I was unsure if he'd be able to this season.

Too lazy to page back through 20+ pages ... but what's the consensus on the opening faceoff fights between the Devils and Rangers? Embarrassment? No big deal? Good times?

I kind of enjoyed it, though the whole staged fighting thing sickens me. So, I guess I'm just confused.

Obviously every goalie give up some goals and not all of the goals were soft. We can agree on that for sure. He played well for the start to the season and then jumped off a cliff. I'm sure the getting used to it had something to do with it. That said, he wasn't playing well and if you are a professional, you take responsibility for your actions.

I don't like staged fights ether. If that happened on the second shift I would have loved it. I want the BS goons out of the league. I understand why it happened but it makes the league look like a blood sport. One Flyers fan here saying, "I didn't like it!"

I wasn't sure who was out for the 1st shift ... but yeah, if each team just dressed their goons, and then sent them out on the 1st shift, that's pretty lame.
