Well, I got to get to work, but one update:
Per Mike Morreale of NHL.com, Talbot and Lilja are skating today
And Kubina - Jsaquella
I still think its an AC strain for Talbot.. falling on an outstretched are will do that.. If not tonight.. I could see a Thursday return for Talbot. Probably get it injected nice and good.

As for number 2... I hope we last long enough he can come back
number 3... the devil always wants more blood... - RooNosHockey
6 to 8 weeks puts him at mid may. And after doing no skating or working out for that long, especially given it's a back injury, doubt he be able to play at all this year. His conditioning will be nowhere near where it needs to be.

Carcillo had more talent than I gave him credit for, but he's still never been able to fins the line. Rinaldo works hard at toeing the line and for the most part hasn't hurt the team with bad penalties. His rep from the AHL and juniors has hurt him a bit, but if he keeps himself under control, he'll be a solid grinder - Jsaquella
I think Rinaldo is a bit more focused on the game than Carcillo. Not to say Rinaldo isn't a dangerous little son of a female dog, but I like his competitive drive more than Carcillo's. That said, Carcillo had some awesome moments:
I'm just saying, yes it sucks to lose Meszaros, but with our depth it isnt a big blow. Just means a couple extra minutes for the top 2 pairings, and Lilja or Gus get some playoff time... - RooNosHockey
And I'm just saying it is a blow. Other injuries can still happen.

It be a miracle if he skated again at any point in this season.

Rinaldo has more of a game plan. Carcillo -- who has a better demonstrated scoring touch when he sets his mind to it -- goes by emotion only.

I disliked Carcillo from the moment he came here. The dislike was only cemented by his performance in Game 6 of the ECQF against the Pens.
Here is the thing with a 6-8 week diagnosis (or any for that matter). That is a round about estimate.. its not exact science. This does not account for any setbacks or unexpected events. Also, what it means is that around weeks 6-8 he would be eligible to start "light activity". Probably basic PT. He likely wont skate till week 9-10 or start hitting till week 11-12. Put a fork in him.
EDIT: It is also important to note that this in not an extremity injury. If this were a shoulder or knee injury.. i wouldnt be saying put a fork in him. Back is a beast of a different nature.

Thats a crock to me. He won a fight.. clear as day. I dont care what the score was that the time. It didnt deflate our team.. We should have been able to hold that lead regardless of him fighting.
Carcillo had his moments, but he was too much of a loose canon. If Carcillo is a street thug, Rinaldo is like a trained assassin. Sneaky on the ice and out of nowhere catches you with a big hit. Carcillo was loud and attracted too much attention sometimes. At least when Rinaldo gets a penalty, he tends to get his money's worth. I also think Rinaldo has much better hands than Carcillo.
Would be great to see them go toe to toe sometime - funmaster18
The big positive that Rinaldo has over Carcillo is the lack of dumb penalties.

Better than I could've put it. I'm happy to have Rinaldo take his place, but I often really enjoyed watching Carcillo. It sounds like the Blackhawks like him too, what with the two year extension.

It didn't deflate us, it woke them up. There is no reason to give them that boost when we are spanking them.

Yeah, Carcillo's probably the last person I blame for that flop.
Not much reaction to losing Mezzy for the rest of the year...
Is he that out of favor? Or does the collective HB conscience just feel its not that important given the way Gusty and others (i.e. MAB / Manning) have filled in? - dcflyerfan71
we had a tearful photo montage yesterday.
i for one am super bummed. it just seems like it never stops.

it was what 4-0 at the time?
i dont care if you gave that whole team crack.. a 4 goal lead in the playoffs doesnt get blown because of a fight. - jak521
I believe it ws a 3 goal lead, and I agree with that point. Still, there was no reason for him to even get involved. Only something bad could have come from it, and it did.
