Why would that be sour grapes? The media kisses this guy's ass non-stop and considers him a franchise player. |

I'm aware. I don't agree with it. Phaneuf and Luongo get about as much crap as anyone. |

LOL. A guy who is crapped on so much is the most overrated? Dion doesn't deserve to be on the list. To be overrated, you must get compliments.

He's made the top of that list now, for a few years. I imagine a lot of it has to do with the fact he plays in a high profile market, with extremely high expectations from both the media and fan-base, and he signs a huge retirement contract. He only has to underachieve a little bit to get labelled "overrated" under these circumstances.
Don't forget he seems to be on the ice for a lot of the worst goals against in a lot of critical games, that get rerun over and over again on the sport-networks. |

He's been hung-out-to-dry. He needs help. |

Bolland is not getting resigned so I'm not sure how they overrated him just for trading for him. |

Then you obviously haven't been listening to the way the media and coaches have talked about him.
I'm not talking about trading for him, I'm talking about how they say they say it would have been a completely different season if he didn't get hurt |

Maybe because the team played it's best with him off to a career best start the first month of the season?
Do you not remember that far back? |

Yeah, I'm sure an overrated 3rd line center would have made ALL the difference.
You should pay him his 5 mil and see how next year goes |

The point is, Bolland was off to the best start of his career and the Leafs played their best with him.
So the Leaf players saying that certainly aren't overrating him with that statement. |

They can't sign him, they have too many players signed to un-cap friendly high cost long term contracts, that have basically tied managements hands, unless they unload some of their younger players to make room for him. - Doppleganger
It's more of a matter that they don't want him at the price he wants. He's not healthy. |

Not to open a whole can of worms, but Chris Kunitz is pretty overrated in my opinion. |

kessel has to be in the discussion, he disappeared down the stretch when his team needed him, this was a man leaf fans said should be a hart finalist |

I think this is very wrong.
Play always gets tougher in the second half. Kessel plays without a #1 center and without a true #1 Dman. He does not have much support when other teams commit to shutting him down. Put Kessel on a top team with a good #1 center and D and he would be dynamite (eg., Chicago, Pittsburgh, Anahiem). |

I agree, Phil is not the type of player to "carry" a team on his own. He is a finisher, and the whole team needs to execute in order to win games together.

With all the crap Kessel has gotten he's far from overrated. And I don't really see how he disappeared compared to everyone else. He's always come up big in the playoffs. |

The guy was burned-out. Happened to the entire team. |
