Love OEL's game, kid is already a stud. Between him, Karlsson and Larsson among others Sweden is going to have a hell of a defense in 2014. |

His development has been off the charts. It was like by December he just 'got it.' Suddenly he's getting played 25 minutes a night in all situations, playing against the top lines, added a physical element to his game and just improved most facets of his game. Hard to believe he's 20. |

His offensive instincts are impressive. Has a knack for pinching off the blue line to get a shot near the slot, from the games I've seem. He should be traded to Edmonton, I've decided and it's final. |

Are those the only books you've ever read?
Ps. this series will go to 7 games. I see it as a very flip floppy affair. - wolfos412
Series goes 6 most , with Hawks winning , Hawks wint flop , Coyotes wont flop.
No Canucks in sight , I think the series will be played honorably. |

Without the benefit of home ice, line changes will be even more critical. Tippett will need to get Oliver Ekman-Larsson and Rostislav Klesla on the ice against the Toews line every single time. Klesla has really made Marian Hossa ineffective so far in the series and is playing him very tightly. OEL is simply the best defenseman on the team and needs to play against the opponent’s best in all situations.
Toews line no longer carries Hossa. So if you want Klesla and Larsson on the ice against Toews, Klesla won't be checking Kane and Hossa anymore. |

By flip floppy I ment wins, each team will win every other game back and forth.
Nothing Dishonorable with that. |

Interesting, are they going with Kane at center or Sharp? Or will Kruger/Bolland move to the 2nd? |

Tippett dead panned in his interview and said game time decision, only Dregs word on if he's healthy or starting as of now. I expect by the pre-game we'll know. |

Kane at center with Brunette and Hossa...that line was magic the last month with Toews out. Toews will be with Sharp and Stalberg
I hate to say it but I think that Shanahan did you guys an injustice with the 3 games...The Hawks seem to need a rallying point in the playoffs and I think they just got it. They will be fired up for sure tonight. |

Signed up just to be a lone voice against all the Mike Smith-as-thespian posters...
I thought Shaw's hit on Smith was very similar to Jordin Tootoo's hit on Ryan Miller. Obviously, Miller was in his crease, but as we know simply being out of his crease does not make a goalie fair game. Both made contact with goalies without breaking speed and with no apparent attempt to avoid contact. Also, I believe Miller remained in that game. Both players play a similar on-the-edge and occasionally over it game. Tootoo has been around long enough to establish a reputation as a dirty player. Think Shaw could be heading in a similar direction.
Tootoo received two games along with his charging major and misconduct. Thought Shaw should be given similar punishment. Three is probably excessive and Mr. Shanahan needs to show some consistency.

You make good points. I think you could argue three is a little on the harsh side, but it's fair.
Goalies are not fair game, even out of the crease. Whether Shaw meant to hit the goalie or not, the result was the goalie ended up on the ice.
Contact to the head (whether intentional or not) won't be tolerated. I agree with the two games for running the goalie and the extra game for the hit to the head. |

When taken on it's own and out of the context of all of the other first round incidents and their subsequent punishments, your argument makes sense. When compared with the $2500 fine Weber received for an intentional, pre-meditated, WWE move that had clear, deliberate intent to injure...their is nothing fair about ths suspension. |

So explain how Lucic gets nothing on his hit on Miller. But this gets 3 plus time served POST SEASON games for an almost identical hit. yet Miller was concussed and injured and Smith is not.
According to Shanahan a playoff game is equal to about 5 regular season games. So Shaw basically just got about an 18 game suspension as a first time offender for a "hockey play" where a collision took place.
1 post season game plus time served or about equal to 3-7 regular season (remeber this according to Shanahan not me) games OK. But EIGHTEEN CMON. Its reactionary Knee Jerk and incompetent. The man has no clue what hes doing.
Why do you think this years playoffs have been like they have. All the lines are skewed and everybody is confused.
Its not the discipline that angers me its the inconsistency. |
