PC Conference:
Confirms Timmy considering taking year off
Would suspend him and be stuck with the Cap hit (could use Savards LTIR for space)
Looking at transactions to help with the cap
Comfortable with Tuukka / Borat
Paille hints its family related |

Murphy trashing Thomas for stealing Paille's thunder. Because there's always big press conferences for signing 4th line wingers. What a (frank)ing douche. |

let's see
out of paille, campbell, and kelly
i put paille last on the importance chart
so, they get him done first
with means one of the other 2 won't be back, or maybe both won't
it's june 1st, i would have waited, signed at least campell before paille and given a kid like mcdermid a real shot to make the team
also factor in caron
not that i think paille sucks but better options were there |

Dude , Paille plays a much, much, much more important role than Campbell does.
And at the $ he came back at.... tough to turn away. He would have been in the 2's easily had he gone somewhere else.
I think Kelly is as good as gone unless Chiarelli can pull a rabbit out of a hat. I'd much rather see Kelly back over Campbell, but I have a feeling Kelly is looking for the Kwan. |

Maybe not.
Somebody said maybe he has family issues. I'd understand that.

unless one of his kids has a serious medical issue i can't think of too many reasons to give him a free pass on this one
he got his extra year of security and might turn around and completely (frank) everyone with it
until any real news comes out we won't know
i would take campbell over paille, hands down
hits more, scores more, takes faceoffs.. |

Paille is a PK'ing machine. One of the best in the game.

to this point he is severely one dimensional
campbell is not
to me, this has to mean caron is gone, he doesn't bring the toughness that campbell does, doesn't have the speed, hasn't shown much touch since his rookie year
someone like mcdermid can take that spot for cheaper
we will see how it shakes out with kelly, can definitely see a team like the rag$ picking him up
i just woke up, who the (frank) knows

Paille is also a lot better at what he does than Campbell is.
A severely one-dimensional penalty killing specialist?? Sounds like a good problem to have to me, so long as Clooooooode doesn't try to slot him into a scoring line role.
And we got him at 40% less than another team would have paid. Gotta take that deal. We know what Paille brings and 1.3 per for that is a (frank)ing steal, even if he does go 1-for-32 on shorthanded breakaways
That's 32 more breakaway opportunities than Soupy's had since wearing the spoked-B...
I'm not saying we shouldn't bring back Campbell ... I think we still can with Kelly likely gone. What I am saying is that you can't turn away the kind of bargain Paille agreed to to stay here. |

Assuming Kelly doesn't come back and they re-sign poo and campbell.
I see the need for offensive help in top 9. Caron is on strike two. needs to step up
Lucic Krecji Horton
Marchand Bergy Seguin
Poo Peverly Caron
Paille Campbell Thornton
All in running for bottom 6, Bourque/MacD/Arniel / Camper / Knight / Spooner
Chara Boychuk
Seidenberg Hamilton
Ference Wolf
Krug / Cross / Warsovsky / Bartowski
Rask
Borat |

Thomas confirms he's not playing next year. tuukka's agent just ordered an 8 ball. - salvadorsanchez
Ironically, Timmy and Tuukka have the same agent ...
Now that it's official, it's Chiarelli's job to get rid of that final year of Tim's salary. Wow, if Chiarelli can find a way to bury Timmy's salary via trade, and utilizes Savard's LTIE, we could potentially roll something like this next season:
FORWARDS
Zach Parise ($7.500m) / David Krejci ($5.250m) / Tyler Seguin ($3.550m)
Milan Lucic ($4.083m) / Patrice Bergeron ($5.000m) / Nathan Horton ($4.000m)
Brad Marchand ($2.500m) / Chris Kelly ($3.000m) / Rich Peverley ($3.250m)
Daniel Paille ($1.300m) / Gregory Campbell ($1.500m) / Shawn Thornton ($1.100m)
Jordan Caron ($1.100m)
DEFENSEMEN
Zdeno Chara ($6.917m) / Johnny Boychuk ($3.367m)
Dennis Seidenberg ($3.250m) / Bryan Allen ($3.250m)
Andrew Ference ($2.250m) / Adam McQuaid ($1.567m)
Dougie Hamilton ($1.494m)
GOALTENDERS
Tuukka Rask ($3.500m)
Anton Khudobin ($0.875m)
BUYOUTS
Patrick Eaves ($0.258m)
------
CAPGEEK.COM TOTALS
(these totals are compiled without the bonus cushion)
SALARY CAP: $70,300,000; CAP PAYROLL: $69,860,833; BONUSES: $3,062,500
CAP SPACE (22-man roster): $439,167
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I think I could live with that
... Although our goaltending situation is much weaker than we've become used to, there's not much we can do about it. |

I'm really not all that concerned about the goalie situation. I think we have two young studs. Would want a backup vet on a 2 way deal.
Because they can suspend him and the contract is valid for 2013 - 2014, that is also assuming the mayan calendar is off and the amero isn't instituted and the world doesn't collapse. someone might pick timmay up that needs to reach the floor without having to actually pay him. I can see that contract being tradable. someone like colorado, phoenix, florida and these others that need to get to the floor (colorado has a poop ton of RFA's)

it will backfire on timmay
trade his rights to columbus or some poop team like that who needs help getting to the cap floor
biggest issue is rask needs to be signed and has the same agent as thomas so hopefully that will not play into anything
if rasks agent asks for too much they can go (frank) themselves too
we can pick up vokoun for a year and have khudobin back him up
hey timmay, go (frank) yourself you just completely ruined your legacy in boston and made yourself out to be a selfish tool to the one team that gave you an opportunity
did i mention, he can go (frank) himself |

Meh ... I'm not thrilled with the outcome, obviously. But IMO Timmy has every right to do whatever the (frank) he wants to. He pretty much single handedly delivered the only Bruins Stanley Cup I've ever witnessed. If it wasn't for the 35+ rule and PC handing out the extended term, it wouldn't be an issue. I'm not going to hold it against the guy because he wants to take some time to reconnect with his family ... he's turning out to be a total (frank)in nut job but whatever, that's his right. Deal with it and move on. He's off the books next year, PC just needs to get creative in the meantime. |
