Poo under $2m > Rolston IMHO.

I like the depth and experience Rolston brought us but Poo is more useful at this point of their careers. Now if Rolston was willing to take south of $1m thats another story. That being said I would like a new face in that third line slot. Caron should be first in line to crack the top nine but if we can find another gritty, 15 goal guy on the market at the right price I'd do that.

Rolston is a guy you can move up and down the line-up and use on teams.

Both should be taking a deep pay cut from last year. I say we ship Poo's rights to "sweeten" any deal we make this offseason. Let them deal with it. Harvard has better things to do than deal with an RFA contract on this freakin guy

I'll be a little disappointed if Poo is back. At $1M he really isn't a terrible value, but that's the one spot left available to upgrade that won't cost an arm and a leg. Go a little bigger, get a vet guy with a little bit left in the tank who can move up and down in the top 9 if we lose a guy or two either in UFA or via trade.

Neither excite me in the least. Can't see Poo taking less then a mil for 16 goals. I think Chia will qualify him as insurance if he comes up empty in the FA search.

I'm not sure Caron has the offensive upside that Poo does but he's probably good for a few less goals against so it'll even out. If he can play like he did for that 5 or so game stretch when he was on fire for longer stretches this year he'll settle in nice there. Hopefully he puts it together this year.

I wouldn't mind a look at boyes if all else doesnt pan out. The biggest thing for me is the guy has to show up every single night and go balls out, think prust, marchand (most of the time), clarkson, doan, morrow, iggy etc.. has to have that desire,focus and motor gene. probably missing a few but same idea.

Didn't notice Zanon laying down on the ice in front of Thomas for the majority of goals against us, eh?

give caron an honest chance and at least have somewhat of a spot open for a kid to make the team..or trade him...he is the type of guy who could quite possibly turn into a malhotra/smolinski type if given the opportunity..more on the malhotra upside than smolinski imo

i love rolston, but it will come down to who does what at camp, that is not a decision i make now

Call me UNH biased....but Winnik wouldn't be bad. Good wheels, never gives up on play, excellent on the PK.....Switch him in Paille from time to time on the 3/4th line.
