I have 2 routes I've always taken when driving North ... If I am coming from a more-inland locale, I only breeze through Jersey for a few minutes in the very northern part of the state (Penn farmland most of the way). Cut across to the Tappan Zee, yadda yadda ...

I was coming from Richmond, VA yesterday and my usual route from that area takes me up 95, Jersey Tpke up to exit 11, then GSP up to 287, Tappan Zee, yadda yadda.

Probably hit the GSP north of you ...

The (frank)ing Tpke is 14 bucks now if you travel all the way through!


All said and done, I easily spent $20+ yesterday in tolls starting in Maryland, and that's with avoiding most of the Tpke and GW bridge. (frank)ing insane.

yup, exit 11 is exit 129 on parkway
i used to be at 100, now a few miles north at 105

i used to love the parkway, definitely a little more scenic than the disgusting turnpike but in north jersey the traffic always sucks around 140 or so
too many tools on the road now

the tolls have gotten ridiculous..work pays for them, it used to take about 2 months to spend $150, now it takes 1 month
i drive a ton, but that is a big difference
