Real_ESPNLeBrun: Calgary, Boston and Detroit also among high-profile teams that didn't make Justin Shultz short-list...

Sounds like PC at least made a pitch.

- Double_A

How is Calgary a "high Profile team"?

They are one of the last teams in Canada that matter.

Just because it's Canadian media, they don't really matter to anyone else

Most of those teams have plenty of guys to lock up still, but hopefully there will be a handful interested at least!

Colorado and PHX makes the most sense.

Good stuff, keeps his cap hit low, still retain his rights as an RFA after this year (assuming no major CBA changes) ... I'm guessing you see him wrapped up long-term come January provided he doesn't sh!t the bed.

I think the B's sign or trade for a dman for depth. Garrison out of FLA? Might be too expensive.

I was watching some video of the 6th Annual Thomas Cross Development Camp on the B's website today.

They had them doing Navy Seal's type sh!t on the ocean. Our new goalie draft pick was praying to god that they didn't throw him overboard

Way too expensive...Wideman's contract apparently sets the bar for his and other fellow middle pairing defensemen. So it'll probably be north of 5M

Yep, he'd be a good fit, but he's going to cash in. I'd be a little skeptical that he's a one hit wonder too ... kind of had a Ron Hainsey like season. And no one wants Ron Hainsey.

Do you guys think Knight has a chance at breaking the line up this year? Don't pull the "well everyone has a chance..."

Depends on the following

1) What does Caron do
2) Unknown injury to any forward
3) Hortons health

So, to be totally honest....I think yeah, he does. I'm not sold on Caron making the next step, Im worried about Hortons health, and injuries happen

I think he'll get a shot. Caron and Bourque are kind of the incumbents as I see it, so he'll have to push them out of the way, but I wouldn't be surprised if he's not far off that level. By the sounds of it Spooner continues to impress at D-camp, while he might not have the "safe" pro game that Knight has, he may be the better player. I think those two will push and hopefully be in the mix right up to the end of main camp.

I'm kind of pulling for Minnesota to get both Parise and Suter. I'd like to see them have a decent team ... good hockey country.

I think knight and spooner have a chance. It does depend on caron, but more so also what Peter does in free agency.

That's awesome ... Sign him and loan him to Spartak ... don't risk losing his rights. That's a big win for PC. Good stuff.
