He's still putting it together. Asked for some bloggers. I submitted some old material and a few hours later I got a twee that I was his guy(must have been the only one to submit anything).
I also sent him that Boston Fan Montreal Fan xtranormal movie I did.....I think that was the icing on the cake.

Certainly competitive if 2U's provides well above average goaltending and Horton isn't mushbrained.

Its a roster that should contend with the other 5 or 6 elite teams of the NHL probably but it certainly lacks the same depth of the Cup winning squad. That being said they didn't have that depth in place until the deadline anyway.
I'm happy to see what that squad can do. |

For any team to win, lots of things need to go right. Might not have Ryder/Rex, but we also have 2012/13 Seguin + Caron not 2010/11 Seguin. Marchand is a better player now etc. Theoretically the improvement from within should offset those losses.
I'd love to steal another vet like that Recchi deal at the deadline, but I don't think its the end of the world if we roll with the current roster.
Who knows, maybe Knight or Spooner will kill it in camp and make that 3rd line a Wheeler-Krejci-Ryder type threat. |

Ryder did come up big but you also had a rookie Seguin that year. Reechi was hugely important but it was primarily his leadership I think that was most important. He can be replaced with another grizzled Vet.
Thomas did play well but I think he was more a success of your system. I mean Rask has had virtually identical numbers no? |

Besides wins and losses, because often the Bruins didn't provide him with adequate goal support, his numbers were often better. |

I was going to say everything but W/L.
Rest of the team needs to play better in front of him than they have the last few seasons.
Rask doesn't seem to have that same ability to absolutely steal games for long stretches, but he's probably more consistent. |

Pretty much looking at raw numbers but Timmy gave them a different swagger and you could see it in your opponents sometimes to that they knew some nights they just were not going to score. He always had more timely saves that gave them the confidence to attack more. Team had a different feel to it IMO with Timmy. |

Although I agree, we can't be sure how it'll be when Rask is starting night in and night out. He stole some games in 09'-'10, especially that game in the Buffalo series with a few minutes left, when he dove completely over the crease to stop the puck with his blocker and send the game into 2 OTs and then the Bs won.
I'm a huge Rask fan though, so I openly admit my biases |

and that is the biggest question mark that rask still needs to answer..like any young goalie does
timmay put the team on his back, not just last year during the playoffs, but many nights since has been a bruin
making the big save in the big spot, not just a "holy shot I can't believe he made that save" when they are up 6-2... do it when it counts |

I'll never forget the swagger the team played with when Timmy was playing his best. Confidence, attitude and tenacity. Polar opposite of how they played through the Thornton/Lewis era's. |

but it was also how he played when they had zero swagger and zero game
he doesn't get the credit he deserves for holding them in a lot of games, and winning some of them..when the team had nothing
if it wasn't for him, the bruins would have been dead last in the league the year the flyers were |

Yes.....but 3 things have to happen.
Horton has to be back...totally back.
Tyler has to take the next step
Tuukka needs to learn from past playoff mistakes and fill the role of closer in net. If those 3 things happen, then they are in the mix of the half dozen teams that on paper, are cup contenders. |
