I don't like the sunday afternoon games, but it is what it is. I'll be tuned in. - flyersfan51
True. It's just that my Dad likes to take me out for Sunday Dinner and the Flyers really screw that up for me. He just ends up taking someone else. |

Another goalie on the market with Luongo. Very interesting.
There's a chance that Tim Thomas will be traded over the summer. Thomas' no-movement clause will no longer be in effect starting on July 1st. As great as Thomas has been, there is a couple of reasons the Bruins might trade him. The first is that he recently turned 38 and his contract will expire at the end of the 2012-13 campaign, so if they ever wanted to get a return for him in the trade market, they're running out of time. Another is that they have a great young goaltender in Tuukka Rask, who is ready to assume the starters job. Rask is also scheduled to become a restricted free agent this summer, so it would be expensive to keep both of them.

That Series is over. The Flyers won. It's history. Both teams are formidable and there are challenges for both sides. - MJL
Yup. Should be a good series if the Devils can play consistent hockey. If we show up like we did against the Cats it could be a short one. |

you know what i like is that the teams left cant score goals...if the flyers play like they did game six who is going to stop them no one not even "The Queen" henry.... |

don't get me wrong, i respect the hell out of the flyers and the tools they have...i just think that after taking down pittsburg and seeing they have the horrible crappy worst team to ever skate devils in the next round theyre gonna relax when this series is gonna be nothing like the last...offense vs offense is gonna make the winning team look unbeatable...but defense wins championships and if we can fluster the forwards we will see them fall apart - Xnightwish
i doubt the flyers forwards get frustrated for 4 games. Maybe a game. I am not one to think this series will be a cake walk.
The Devils have some very talented forwards and a better defensive core than Pittsburgh.
In saying that, the flyers D did a good job on Malkin and Crosby. Malkin is better and more physical than Kovy, Crosby is better than Parise.
The devils don't have a Kris Letang either.
The Flyers will need Bryz to be sharp and the forwards to help defensively. I expect more secondary scoring from the flyers this series.
Hartnell and Simmonds will be more of a factor and I expect Jake to be a PIA for the devils.
With the week off for the flyers I think they won't be as sharp as they could be at the start Sunday afternoon. If they can hold their own I like their chances.
I think any OT games might benefit the flyers more with fresher legs but all it takes is a weird or fluky bounce or deflection and it's a loss. |

Thinking a series could be a short one doesn't necessarily mean you think the opponent is a bad team. You only need to be a little bit better each game for a 4 or 5 game series... you don't need to thoroughly dominate your opponent every night. |

This is the playoffs. Your no longer playing every team in the Conference and some of the lesser teams. The field is narrowed. And the competition is the best teams. With the best defense, goaltending, etc. The intensity and checking goes up. The games are by nature lower scoring. The Flyers/Pens series was an anomaly. To think that the remaining teams can't score is simply false. Every team left is dangerous with dangerous offensive players that can score. Show up and don't match the opponents intensity and see what happens. |

There is a reason these teams are playing in the second round of the NHL playoffs. If they couldnt score they wouldnt be there.
If the Flyers play the way they did over the last 20 minutes of game 5, and 60 minutes of game 6.. they will win this series, and could do it in 5. If they get all loosey goosey its gonna make it tough for them. |

IMO, I think the Flyers are the better team but that means nothing because they still have to go out there and prove it. They cant take any opponent lightly at this stage of the playoffs. Play your best hockey and see where the chips fall. |
