Question for the Devils fans,
Is Harrold a better option over the rookie Larson?
Zidlicky was a nice pick up.
What's up with Tallinder? Hurt or just benched? - Marc D
Tallinder has a blod clot, not expected back for the season.
Harrold vs Larsson is debatable. Larsson really never recovered well after being hit by Subban, and Harrold was very steady at the end of the year. Harrold is prone to his share of mistakes and doesn't really have the size of Larsson, but when he's playing well, he tends to make good outlet passes and is very comfortable in the offensive zone. |

I respect these teams, I do. But Marty has not been that good in over three years. He still shows flashes of his former self, but at his age i dont think he can keep up with our guys. he might steal a game, but the fatigue factor will son catch up. - Philly1980
Brodeur is capable of being lights out. He alone can beat the Flyers. |

The Rangers have been blocking shots all Season long. Going on 89 games now. When are all these injuries going to happen? And the Flyers aren't going to be worn down? Why have they had how many players take multiple maintenance days? - MJL
Agreed. I see the flyers finishing up there series before the rangers/capitals though. Have you watched all of the rangers games in the playoffs? They looked spent after last night. Another 7 game series and that teams done im sorry. |

Do you worry about the speed of Kovy and Parise against Grossmann? I do. convinced that the pairs may have to be juggled a bit for the Flyers D in this round.
I'd rather have Coburn - Timo against that line. - dcflyerfan71
As of now, Kovy is nursing an injury. His explosiveness is gone, however, I think he started to adjust to his limited ability very well towards the end of the series. |

That isn't a bad idea and use Grossmann & Carle against Zajak's line.
The Flyers forwards need to be committed to keep the gaps close and coming back hard through the neutral zone.

Same goes for Bryzgalov. He can win a series also. Goes both ways. |

One play doesn't mean a player sucks. You could look at one play where a mistake was made by many on the Flyers. Does that mean they suck also on defense? The Flyers gave up 10 goals in a playoff game. - MJL
I didn't follow the Devils closely at all this season, but from what I understand Kovalchuk has really come into his own as a more complete two way player this year. Perhaps one of our visiting friends can enlighten us? |

On paper this is a good match-up for the Flyers. At the same time, this isn't going to be a cakewalk. The Devils have some highly skilled players, and you know they get fired up to play the Flyers. I expect a very physical series and the Flyers need the defense and Bryzgalov to play like they did in game 6 against Pittsburgh. - Jsaquella

The Rangers didn't look close to being spent. If that's what your relying on for the Flyers to win against them, were in trouble. The Flyers are going to have to beat the Rangers, if they play them. |

Well a guy who scored a ton of goals but led his team to a non playoff berth was more valuable than a guy who had 93 points and led his team to 103 points.
That's right, Giroux not a Hart finalist. Malkin, Stamkos & Lundqvist |

Not at all. I think the Flyers are the better team, and can and will win the Series. But I realize the challenge it will be. It's the opposite. You think every other team should just pack it up and surrender to the Flyers. Because they can't score, they're worn out, their Goalie can't play, etc. |

I don't see the Devils turning up the heat like the Penguins did, so no I don't expect 4-5 goals a game.
On the flip side I don't see the devils being so defensively irresponsible and Brodeur will be solid.
So long as the Flyers play tight and disciplined, not making stupid turnovers and putting some JAM on it, things should be fine. Flyers in 5. |

Why not wait until the Rangers win a series outright before getting too cocky
I wouldn't be overly confident after squeaking by the caps. |

The Rangers played a good team defense game, from what i saw (limited) there offense just wasn't there...mabye it was because Anderson played very well.
either way, right now the Devils are up. The Flyers need to win 4 games before they can worry about anything else. |
