can't argue that. doesn't change the fact that lundqvist has more wins against a tougher divison. - tomburton99
Lundqvist is on an all around better team. Lundqvist will probably win it but Quick being on a strictly worse team doesn't make it a shoe in for Lundqvist.
you guys have said that lundqvists prior years shouldnt be considered and i have to argue that LA's offense shouldn't be considered.
Its not about your team scoring its about the goalie's play and thats about it.
Lundqvist had a better save percentage, more wins.
if you look at the prior years....it seems these are the 2 stats GM's look at the most when coming up with the vezina winner - wheresthesoda
For THIS season...
Quick has a better save% and MUCH better gaa
The numbers say Quick was the better goalie
The argument that Lundqvist faced better opponents,
IMO, is cancelled out when u consider that Quick played for a much worse team with a supporting cast that simply wasn't as good as what Lundqvist has in NY
So for me, it goes back to the numbers...
And that gives the Vezina to Quick
Both had fantastic seasons though
Everybody is making a case for Quick because he plays for a team that can't score. Well how bout Lundqvist not having two of his top 6 defensemen for a large chunk of the year. And tje man still managed to post a 1.97 and .930
Malkin locked up the Hart trophy with his four 5 point games in blowouts vs non playoff teams.
padded his stats greatly - jimbro83
The lack of separation between quick and hank ensures there is no chance hank wins the hart
The fact that the blue's duo did just as well, if not better, makes malkin's "20 points" irrelevant since hank has no shot.

Hank and Quick face in the bottom 5 in shots per game. Same with Elliott and Halak, if anything Rinne, who faces on average of 4 more shots a game should probably be right up there. He also has more wins than Hank and Quick, and very close save %
