Schultz gets the entry level max regardless of where he goes - I believe that is $875k for his draft year. He will have the usual entry level bonus structure - which I guess could max out a $3m - but only if he's out of this world great. Which would be a nice problem to have.
He's widely rated as best D prospect not in the NHL - and the couple of extra years have added expereince and maturity. The reason Anaheim let Gardner go was because they had a better prospect in Schultz.
If the Oil are able to sign him - it would be the equivalent of getting another top 6 draft pick, without giving anything up,,,
no suter unless its 6 mill 3 years.... no long term poop im scarred. Rather get garrison for 4 ish - Killbot460
I think Suter wants $7mil per over 5 or more seasons. He'll get it. Hopefully, the Oilers just say no. Suter is great, but patience is the key for the Oilers. The team will get there.
Problem is, no one is trading "proven help" of the top pairing variety. Teams need to develop top pairing D men. With respect to that, you can't find a much better prospect than Schultz. - Maxbone
Oh they're available. Pronger was traded twice if you recall. As was Chara. You just have be willing to go after them. Shattenkirk could have been had. Erik Johnson. The list goes on.

yeah at what cost.... don't bring up the chara trade it was before he was good

It will obviously cost, and perhaps right now is not the time. But you won't be able to take that next step while maintaining all your assets. We have some decent D prospects in our system but hoping that the next Weber or Keith appear is probably not realistic.

6 mill per year for 10 years. Frontloaded. Do it. Do it.

thats why i say sign a vet dman.... and try to grab Schultz. I'm not opposed to drafting murray as well. But maybe in a year or 2 they can go after a legit top notch dman.

acceptable. the Schulz situation is an interesting one. seems like Van, Edm and TO all think he will go there.

Richard. Honest question. Do you not think Bettman is licking his fingers right now? LA, Phoenix, New York (likely) and New Jersey (likely)
It seems to me he has the best of all worlds. The pathetic Coyotes Franchise going deep. Hollywood which gives him celebs like Tom Hanks, Beckham and more showing up Which I would assume makes the average fan A much bigger fan. New york..........The centre of the US universe (much like Canadas T.O) and New Jersey, Home fo the Syhittiest television show on earth and empty seats which may actually fill up from success.
Seams to me like Gary Rattman is licking his chops.
Although from a spectator point of view. Im quite disappointed. - vancity787
You forgot to point out that Rangers-Devils is a rivalry. That will be a nasty series. Can't wait until they start their fourth lines in Game 1

Yup, Its a rivaly. And the product they put on the ice Is usually boring.
Sure, The hate and shenanigans in between make it a little more entertaining. But the hockey itself is nothing to phone home about.
And seems how its playoffs. I highly doubt those entertaining shenanigans will even happen. Especially in the conference finald....

Rangers are going to embarrass the Devils.
If the Flyers can win 3 straight, at least that will be a decent series.
Phoenix and LA should be a cup final. Rags are going to have issues against either of those teams.

it would be nice to see Flyers vs Kings in the cup finall.... Carter/Richards returning and such but chances are doubtfull the flyers make it past round 2
Are the Rangers and Caps really killing you with boredom? You're not a fan of hockey if thats what you think. Ya the pens flyers series was entertaining but that was an outlier, that wasnt playoff hockey, playoff hockey was the triple overtime game between rangers and caps where each team played there hearts out
The goalie battle between lundqvist and holtby is epic. No real fan of the game only judges it on whether or not a lot of goals are getting scored thats childish. The hits are bone crunching from both sides. Every player is sacrificing there body for the team. Thats playoff hockey.
Thats my rant about your sentence, as for the rest good blog

Yeah, scoring with six seconds left to send the game to overtime to then win it, what an absolute snooze fest! You and the writer of this blog are out of your minds, I hate the Rangers but to call these last few games boring either means you morons aren't watching them or know nothing about anything? Which one is it?

Thank you, someone with common sense. Anyone who calls this series boring has some other reason for saying it? How could you call last nights game boring?
