Again...not being signed for point production...being signed to open up space and win board battles....two things we sorely lack.

sure changed in a hurry for Reimer once opponents figured him out.
- dt99999

Watch the video, see where Reimer was positioning himself this year as opposed to last. Whether he can correct it is moot. I mean if the guy hired to correct it hasn't done so then he isn't doing his job is he? and what do you do to guys who don't do their job?

Right...but my point is it would be a potential for potential swap...
- Pen15

Yes, but we dont need a goalie with potential, we need a proven goalie if we are going to trade for a goalie at all... If we are hoping for a goalie with potential to make it as a starter, stick with Reimer and Scrivens and use Schenn and Kulemin to address an area that we cant improve using what we currently have in the system

make sense?

For one of them they got an extension, then fired when it was too late.

They actually are. Want to know why?

Reimer cost the Leafs nothing.

Lindback, according to you, would cost the Leafs Schenn and Kulemin.

- Unholy_Goalie

You completely miss the point....

Using the Reimer's 30 games argument to say he's a legit #1 is just as valid as saying Lindback's 30 games are enough to say he's a legit #1.

I was thinking size wise but Scrivens is at the point now that he has to be given a chance, It will be hard to bury him the AHL for another season plus he is an RFA, doubt Burke will go with Reimer & Scrivens, too much inexperience again.

Frederik Andersen.

Joacim Eriksson.

If the Leafs wanted a "Lindback" type goaltender, both of these guys would come cheaper. And are in an organization that already has a long term #1.

Reimer isn't a legit #1. That's not what people are trying to tell you. What they're trying to tell you is that it's pointless to go out and TRADE for a goalie who isn't even better than the one we have right now!

could it not be that once he was figured out by the opposition just like Jim Carrey and Patrick Lalime and so many more he had no choice but to alter his game?

Could it be that he's simply not the great goalie you think he is?

Yes I know about them, we also have Rynnas and Owuya, but we may need one more depending if we don't sign a vet goalie for next year.

Well my 2nd option that ppl seemed to completely ignore was sign a veteran and give Reimer another year.

All I'm saying is, if Burke gives up a little more than he should given simple economics, I'd be okay with it given that our goaltending should be our #1 priority.

Dude, not once have I said he was a great goalie. I see a tale of two seasons, and all I want to do is find out if he can get back to the way he was and if not, wtf is the damage? because the other options are reliving the Lee Stempniak trade via Bernier or Lindback.

Lindback & Beriner > Reimer

EDIT: Not only in terms of potential...but also in terms of their stats.

that's fine but I think if you want to see what he's got then you probably have the best goalie coach in the league to help him get there.

Because he made Patrick Roy become Patrick Roy?
Eddie Belfour credits Tretiak for making him the goalie he became. There are many more goalies who blame Tretiak for ruining their careers.
