Sign Kulemin to a 3 or 4 year deal.
The price will never be lower.
If he sucks, bury him. |

30 goals down to 7. I mean, I thought Kulemin was going to have an off year this year but 7 goals? That's horrible. |

Too bad his agent knows that and they'd never go for it. |

Kulemin is one of those guys who the teacher agonizes over. Doesn't want to fail the kid, because he's a good kid, and boy did he ever try hard - stayed late after school, handed in all his homework, participated in class, was polite to his fellow students, etc.
But at the end of the day, he failed every single test he took all year.
So the teacher sucks it up, and asks Kulemin to stay behind after all the other kids leave. And then gives him the pep talk about how he thinks that his best years are still ahead of him, and he still shows a lot of promise, and it really hurts him to do this, but unfortunately he has to fail him; it wouldn't be fair to the others if he gave him a pass when he didn't earn it.
By the way, jbold got this speech a lot in public school.
Except for the parts about showing a lot of promise, and getting along well with classmates. |

It's like his season just couldn't take off.
Like he struggled from the very start. But just couldn't get flying.
And then crashed horribly.
What, too soon? |

I don't think so.
It was very well done. In my eyes anyway... |

Hmmmm.... wait a minute.
So it's a specific type of depression that affects only your hands/scoring touch?
I'll have to call bullpoop on that if that's the case. |

I've heard every excuse in the book. He's playing hurt. He had a kid. Igor Korolev died.
I could see him having a bad year this year, just like MacArthur and Grabovski, simply because 2nd line players who have a career year, rarely match the numbers the next year. But 30 goals down to 7? I could see 20, maybe even 15, but 7? Ridiculous. |

Something needs to change drastically in the leafs top 6.
Lupol, Kessel, and Gravoski aren;t going anywhere in all likelyhood.
That leaves Bozak, Kulemin, and Maccarthur as the spots to fill.
I have to belevie Kadri takes Maccarthurs spot. Mac gone in trade.
Bozak will be the odd center out via trade, as that is the biggest area in terms of needed improvement.
That leaves Kulemin who will probably fight with Frattin/Ashton/Colborne for that final top 6 winger role.
To be honest, given the $ the leafs would probably offer him in this type of role, I'm not so sure Kulemin doesn't just opt to the KHL. That would be my bet.
