Because he made Patrick Roy become Patrick Roy?
Eddie Belfour credits Tretiak for making him the goalie he became. There are many more goalies who blame Tretiak for ruining their careers.

I see no other choice but for us to engage in a fistfight.

Lindback & Beriner > Reimer

EDIT: Not only in terms of potential...but also in terms of their stats.

- Pen15

Lindbacks career numbers
Total NHL 38 16 13 2 1923 81 940 2.53 .914 2

Bernier's career numbers
Total NHL 48 20 17 5 2691 112 1247 2.50 .910 5

Reimer's career numbers
Total NHL 71 34 24 9 3959 187 2108 2.83 .911 6

Really eh? Are they younger than Reimer too?

Take it to EE, I don't want to clean up the blood in the thread, let Howard take care of it.

Also, Lindback benefits from playing behind the Nashville Predators system...

Wow, I honestly thought Bernier had better numbers than that. Thanks for posting that.

JVR is a close second.

Every time I hear a "Leafs have interest in JVR" rumour, I cringe.

What a hit that was.

- robin_steele264

Kaboom! .....then Richards goes after Oshie challenging him while Penner skates around the outside of the scrum trying hard not to get stepped on by the alpha males.

Penner ...no thanks.

If it's bottom line guys you want there are much better options then Penner ....competitive guys like Winnik, Campbell, Prust, Parros, McClement, Glass, Moen ....etc..

Well my 2nd option that ppl seemed to completely ignore was sign a veteran and give Reimer another year.
All I'm saying is, if Burke gives up a little more than he should given simple economics, I'd be okay with it given that our goaltending should be our #1 priority.

- Pen15

This...Vokoun or Biron....2 year contract max

Our #1 priority should be to PROPERLY develop the youth that we have. If it is in Reimer and Scriven's best interest to sign a vet short term to aid either one in becoming our future starter,t hen I am all for it.

What I am not in favour of is trading the youth to get a player that will not be the difference in becoming a CONSISTENTLY competative team.

lol... all these backups on other teams people are trading for have proven exactly Zero .. .and most less than Reimer... except put up very slighty better numbers on better teams.

Just sign a UFA if a decent one is available or go with what we have...
