Burke wouldn't make it "optional". Chiarelli made the White House trip optional if I'm not mistaken. Burke would have said it was mandatory. Had it been mandatory for Boston, I think Thomas would have been there.

he has every right to whatever he believes.. but he shouldnt allow his beliefs to disrupt a team function.. its not like they were going to debate politcal viewpoints with obama.. just getting their friggin picture taken.

anyways.. its unfortunate.. becaus e thomas, a generally likable guy, now has this black mark on his persona
