No way Colborne is ready for top line minutes. Im not even sure hes ready to play consistently in the nhl. Penner is terrible out of shape pancake man I dont want him for anything even if he cost nothing. All he would be doing is taking up a spot. You have Ashton playing over Frattin? This roster looks bad. - battlefield
Honestly, forgot about Frattin. I agree on Colborne but i don't see the 1C position being filled so it's just an option they may have to explore. I think you are missing the point of what is being moved out, we are not going to have an all star roster, it's certainly better than what we have nowBurke can only do so much..

It was nice that a lot of those contracts and players were gone there is no doubt about it.
I totally agree with these points. I also think that Burke will be even more wary of such a contract than he already is because it's Vancouver. It's very risky, and I don't think he wants to on the bad end of a deal with Gillis that blows up in his face.
I think some Toronto fans are talking like trading for Luongo is the only avenue on this planet available for a team seeking a good NHL goalie, and this makes no sense to me. - Zezel
Who do you suggest? Vokoun? Got exposed in WSH ( Theodore is playing unreal on his previous squad, tells you it was the system). Everybody wants a fix but won't pay the price.

I don't know man, Vokoun's numbers were actually pretty much in line with his career average, he was 2.51 and .916 with Washington this year.
I want a fix, but the price I'm willing to pay is continuing to look for one rather than take on that contract. Even if we roll the dice with Reimer and Scrivens, if they do well then we're happy, if they don't, we collect another draft pick. I'm not even a huge tank nation guy by any means, but I'd rather that than sign up for ten years of Luongo. If Luongo was 28, by all means. But who's to say he's good for more than four years even? Even a guy like Belfour, his last year with the Leafs he just all of a sudden SUCKED. Imagine if he was on contract for another five years at a five million cap hit?

Took damn near five hours but somebody finally got it.
I will never forgive, nor forget this.
Never liked him before and that was definitely the straw that broke the camels back. 2 goals and 8 points in 37 playoff games with the Leafs. Disgusting.
