"Fair" eh?? Either you haven't watched much hockey and/or don't know the players situations.
Luongo has a 20 year contract, is it good to have a player locked up long term?? Well not when he is over 30 and fading....don't think he is very marketable considering his play, especially in the playoffs the past couple years. Ballard can't even make the lineup most nights and Booth is a 3rd line player. Your 1st RD pick is not worth much.
Now, Kane & Enstrom...stealing your words...."The Canucks would add a gamebreaker and a quality young defenseman. I could see both making a big difference for them." Kane is 20 yrs old, a 30 goal scorer, while Enstrom is a top 4 D man.
Does this still sound like a "fair" proposal??
The JETS are fine in net with Pavs, just need to play better overall D. If they want to have a player locked up long term, it should be Kane....not Louie!
With all the Lu rumors and not wanting him to go to a 'western' team, what would you think of a Luongo/Ballard/Booth/and our 1st for Kane/Enstrom trade? Its a move that has pros and cons for both teams, but I also think its one that would work for both.
The Jets get someone who is locked up long term and is someone they can market the team on and build around(Luongo) They also get 2 quality players, who although inconsistent at times are still pretty young, skilled guys. Plus a low end first.
The Canucks would add a gamebreaker and a quality young defenseman. I could see both making a big difference for them.
A pick/prospect or 2 may need to be added to make it work cap-wise, but I think this is a fair proposal.
