Hey Im for anything that will clean up downtown. Buffalo is one of the only cities that lacks to this extent a down town attraction hub. Lets be Honest you take away the Arena and Chippewa why in the world would you ever go downtown.... except for sheas I suppose. |

he should contribute to paying to bury Ville Leino in the AHL - leafssuckass
great let's bury Leino so it gives the GM who signed him more money to go spend and make the same mistakes
Leino is the same player he always was, Regier is the guy who threw the money at him |

Welcome back, nice work.
Knowing Buffalo though, it'll get bogged down in "environmental review" or they'll make a claim that the asphalt there now is historic, and two years from now that $120k will have bought us some potted plants in front of the arena. - nfph
Its absolutely mind numbing how people actually can get up in arms over empty warehouses that are to be demolished AKA the Trico Plant.
Ya, like we don't already have enough abandoned buildings around here lets keep a few more.
Im all for preservation, especially with some of world class architecture Buffalo has, but enough is enough.
I used to absolutely HATE Buffalo.
I held the strong idea that this place was the butthole of hell and needed to leave.
But the past few years Ive come to see that there are a few, albeit huge, things that would transform our/my city into a healthy/progressive/recognized place to be.
I dunno. I think Buffalo isn't that far away from making a nice jump....and this isn't the stupid optimistic Bills fan talking.

Bills o-line ranked at #13
Pretty good assessment
Could be top 10 if players, especially Glenn, raise up to the call
Nix has really done well improving our teams depth at all facets of the game...WR needs a little work but otherwise he has been phenomenal. |

If Pegula really wanted to do something he would pay to have the sewers near the arena revamped so it doesn't reak of feces all around the place. |

So I'm starting to get bummed about what's gonna happen this offseason...
I can't imagine LA possibly trading Dustin Brown now... Man did we miss the boat on that one (if he actually was available)
Parise prob won't sign here, he'd like go to a team closer to "contending"
Same with Suter, or he stays in Nashville
And with all the hype Galchenyuk has been getting,
It looks like he won't fall very far after all...
He might go #2, and there's no way we offer enough to move up that high
I don't know what we're gonna do,
But I'm running out of ideas that I like |

Why is Byron Brown involved in this at all? He claims to have a $100 Million in surplus... but he can't pay the fire fighters and he can't spend $120K of that on this instead?
What a joke the city has become. |

If the Devils win the cup, I think the sabres have a shot at signing Parise on the basis of "i've already won a cup, now I can help another club get to the promise land." But If Parise gets this deep into the playoffs without winning it all he will sign with a more immediate contender. The other scenario is him wanting to stay a Devil for either of the above reasons. |

I tried calling in to WGR but joe b was on...what i was gonna discuss was how pathetic it is that the nhl rules abruptly change as soon as they get to the playoffs. they dont call interference and they dont call roughing. if there were more power plays the postseason would be more exciting and it would actually require skill to win a cup, and not just a bunch of big goons going out and blocking a million shots
i watch every single cup game and it is just so boring to watch
it seems like the league is completely reversing from the rule changes implemented in 05-06 that were meant to make the game more exciting (which they did)
now the game is like watching paint dry |

LA is still a possibility if they feel Richards/Carter will be that carrying force. Brown has made big plays through the year, but the scoring has really elevated since Carter and Richards came together. Who knows what the spark was in the room. They all love Brown, but if they can fill some other hole in the team (help me here), Brown could be at play. Maybe we will see Brown/Bernier packaged together.
I'm not even ashamed of my pipe-dreams.
Logics states Brown won't leave LA, but when is logic ever in play?
EDIT: I don't think most people in LA would notice if Brown was gone either. He is not at that Kobe level. |

Now that was a blog. Welcome back.
Also, thank (frank)ing god they're doing something by the rink. I was watching the Caps/Pens 24/7 with a Caps-fan friend of mine, when the Pens played in Buffalo. A far away shot of HSBC came on the screen, and he bursted out laughing, saying "WOW, Pittsburg is SUCH a poophole!"
It was downright embarassing having to correct him.
Good job Terry, good job Garth. |

Honestly, a lot of it stems from everyone screwing up on the Larkin building. The preservationists (many of whom I am friends with) have been overreacting since that ultimate gem was turned into a parking lot. |

Savannah has a ton of the same 'historic' problems. People here are so caught up in 'preserving history' that they let abandoned shacks and literal holes in the ground stagnate for years in what are otherwise beautiful areas. In a tiny town like Savannah, it really breaks the flow of traffic, people, and business in a place that's barely getting by as it is.
I'm all for history, but there comes a point when you have to let the old (at least unfixable) buildings go in favor of fresh and functional spots. |
