I just sent Gregg Krupa of the Detroit news a link to my article. Asked him to give me a fact-based response. - John Jaeckel

YOu dont watch enough western conf. hockey to have a legitimate opinion. Your a Sabres fan who watches majority Eastern Conf. games. You have no idea. - nickmo2699
Your reasoning just keeps getting better. So you assume that because the Sabres are in the eastern conference that I dont watch western conference games. Yet youve just spent the past 2 pages talking about the Sabres like you have knowledge of them, but by your own logic you wouldnt.
You know there's this thing called center ice. Its a magical thing where if I call my cable company and order it suddenly I can watch out of market games! |

It's an opinion. Who cares. I think the Cubs will be good in 2014, but I could be wrong. I have no problem with this dude saying he thinks the Wings will be better, so long as he provides his reason. Gotta say, the management/coaching angle argument is hard to dispute. |

Your trolling and have been for the last three days. I'm saying that you have yet to solidify a leguitimate argument for your stance which leads me to believe that you dont know much about the west, but I forgot how sensitive buffalo people are. |

Per Eklund
On Ryan Suter
"One source put it this way..."There are going to be a whole lot of disappointed teams when it comes to Suter. The places he wants to go are very limited." It appears that the Canadian teams, as well as the Eastern Conference big teams won't be able to just throw money at Suter after all. From various sources I have heard that he wants to either stay in Nashville or sign with either Colorado, Detroit, or Minnesota. When the playoffs began I would have put the chances of Suter signing in Nashville about 70%, however now I would say 45% that Suter returns....which, while it is a higher percentage than I would give to him signing with any other specific team, means I now feel the chances are slightly greater he is leaving Nashville."
Well if Eklund says it, then its got to be true! He's never wrong about these types of things |

I love Jurco.
He could really be something. - EKolb13
I've seen a lot of him over the last few years in Saint John and he reminds me of another Red Wing player. Jiri Hudler.
Jurco is a great junior player but I'm not convinced he'll be a big name in the NHL.
Sea Dogs are so stacked. Fun team to watch.

Yeah they are. They were stacked last year too. It's like you watch and they mention a player and you go 'Wow, they are on this team, too?!!?!' |

Just because a fan of another team is in your thread doesnt mean hes trolling. A few of you are saying the Hawks will definitely be better than the Red Wings in 5-10 years. Give me some proof of that.
My argument is Detroit has a history of being a great franchise. Theyve made the playoffs the past 20 years, and have an excellent management structure. The Blackhawks just dont have that history of being consistently successful. The argument that the current core will be better than theirs doesnt effect 5-10 years because they may not be on the team anymore. So all I'm looking for is an actual reason why a couple of you are so sure they'll be better. |

What's the income tax in Chicago versus Nashville. I heard its low in Nash - monkhouse
Good point, no state income tax in TN, about 6-7% difference.
Personally, I think Nashville and Chicago and possibly Minnesota are the front runners. |

I've kissed this guys keister too much today, but I'll do it again. He's right. The Wings have shown the ability to re-tool better than anyone over the last 20 years. How many other franchises have been as successful/consistent? I agree that the Hawks core has a higher ceiling for a number of factors (age, ability, etc). The Hawks are in better position to be more successful, but whether they are or not remains to be seen. |

There's also a chance Jurco could be better than Hudler. I'm not going out on a limb and saying that he's going to be. Jurco does have some talent. |

Dont worry, I realize that are plenty of dumb Sabres fans. You dont have to remind me. Just dont generalize about a fanbase is all I'm saying. Yesterday a Hawks fan was talking about a trade Kane for Lucic, Rask, +. I dont lump the rest of you in with that guy, so I appreciate if you wouldnt do the same. |
