I got a nice response from Gregg Krupa. No counter argument, but he was real nice about it. - John Jaeckel
Bummer. I was hoping for a good counter-argument that could be made into a blog. That would have made for good reading.
I enjoy your blogs nonetheless. |

Dont worry, I realize that are plenty of dumb Sabres fans. You dont have to remind me. Just dont generalize about a fanbase is all I'm saying. Yesterday a Hawks fan was talking about a trade Kane for Lucic, Rask, +. I dont lump the rest of you in with that guy, so I appreciate if you wouldnt do the same. - Rally_Shots
Well, I think if you took a poll of Hawks fans, we're never going to be kind to Canucks fans! Too easy to dislike them for so many reasons! |

Agreed. Let's be done with this and talk about something really realistic...like signing Parise AND Suter - eburgio
I wouldn't catogorize the Hawks signing both players as realistic. I do enjoy the thought of the Hawks possibly taking a run at Suter though. |

I went up to Vancouver for the Hawks game in Jan. I have a new reason to dislike them. Do you all know how expensive the 'Couv is? Wow. Alcohol is NOT cheap for a country with the perception of being drinkers. So cost of living/visiting is another reason to hate Canuck fans. That's logical, right? |

Really? In 3 years, Lidstrom will be gone, Datsyuk will be 37, Zetterberg and Franzen will be 35, Kronwall will be 34.
ALL of them have had as bad or worse injuries than Hossa has, who is the only Hawk core guy who will be over 35 then.
Sorry, I'm not that sold on Gustav Nyquist, Fabian Brunnstrom and Brendan Smith (albeit potentially good players) as the building blocks of a dynasty.
So yeah, I'm sure. - John Jaeckel
LOL this times 50. Anyone who thinks the Red Wings are locks to be good over the next decade hasn't looked at their current roster or their minor league depth. |

What's the income tax in Chicago versus Nashville. I heard its low in Nash - monkhouse

What is interesting in all this is, my strongest info. comes from sources close to Suter's family and the hawks. I don't know where Suter's head is at. There could be a guy or two on the Hawks who he hates. (Same could easily be said of Detroit however).
What I have heard (form a source close to the family) is that his mind is far form made up, Nashville is still very much in the picture and he will consider a range of offers.
People can exclude the Hawks, but if they make a serious offer (which a lot of knowledgeable people say they will), why would Suter NOT consider it. It seems almost ridiculous.

There's also a chance Jurco could be better than Hudler. I'm not going out on a limb and saying that he's going to be. Jurco does have some talent. - EKolb13
Absolutely.
I just feel that he's going to be one of those guys who is a great junior player but the size and toughness of the NHL will hold him back. |

Plus the Hawks are all about US born players.
Especially if you look at the more recently drafted and acquired (Leddy, Olsen, Kane, Saad, Hayes, Hayes, Clendering, Smith, Morin, Johns, Bollig --- quite a few held in high regard by at least the organization). Not sure if that plays a factor or not but could be a valid point... |

I don't think it's so much the size of Jurco. I think he'll put on some weight. I will agree on the toughness factor. I think he'll lack that. He's a skill player. As to how much he can hone his skills will determine what he'll become. I guess that's the big "if" with Jurco.

And a bunch of them came out of the USNTDP: Kane, Saad, Clendening, Morin, Johns, Joe Lavin, others, which Suter also came out of.
Suter also went to Culver Academy, which is only 90 miles or so down the road from Chicago. LOTS of Chicago kids there. |

I'm not sure if its still the same but some places in BC charge extra for cold beer lol
I can't talk though. In New Brunswick, we pay $22 for 12 beer.

I agree, and I think he will go UFA while keeping Nashville in consideration, but at that point they will be one of 30 teams, and they will need to have a plan B |

I don't know how the Hawks would do the dollars for Stuart and Suter, unless a core guy was dealt for picks and prospects. |
