I'm not sure if its still the same but some places in BC charge extra for cold beer lol
I can't talk though. In New Brunswick, we pay $22 for 12 beer. - pri$ey
My girlfriend and I went out to eat and found one place selling Moulson Canadian for $3.50 and I felt like a pig in slop. Every other place was $6-7 a beer and at the liquor store it was $18 for a 12 pack of LaBatt's Blue. $22 for hi-faluting Granville Island beer |

I agree, and I think he will go UFA while keeping Nashville in consideration, but at that point they will be one of 30 teams, and they will need to have a plan B - John Jaeckel
Call me crazy but I think they are more worried locking up Weber long term. That's their captain and heart of the team. I don't think Suter is going back to Nashville. I think if the Hawks want to be serious about it, he will be in a Hawks uniform. I do love the idea of adding Brad Stuart too. But I feel like he will be back in SJ.

Really? In 3 years, Lidstrom will be gone, Datsyuk will be 37, Zetterberg and Franzen will be 35, Kronwall will be 34.
ALL of them have had as bad or worse injuries than Hossa has, who is the only Hawk core guy who will be over 35 then.
Sorry, I'm not that sold on Gustav Nyquist, Fabian Brunnstrom and Brendan Smith (albeit potentially good players) as the building blocks of a dynasty.
So yeah, I'm sure. - John Jaeckel
People are really underestimating Minnys prospect pool. They are the team of the future. Sorry. Hate to say I told you but I did. |

JJ,
It appears Ek has a difference of opinion on Suter's landing spots? |

I wouldn't catogorize the Hawks signing both players as realistic. I do enjoy the thought of the Hawks possibly taking a run at Suter though. - EKolb13
If Suter went to the hawks would Seabrook be bumped down to the 2nd pairing? |

They do have a lot of nice prospects. The makings are there. But there's a long way to go because they are really kinda average at the NHL level.

I am quite sure EK has not spoken to anyone within 20 degrees of Separation from Ryan Suter

No, pretty sure Suter would play with Leddy.

He's not talking to the same people I am. Why he categorically excludes the Hawks is his opinion or someone else's I guess.

Leddy would play with either Seabrook or Suter, assuming Hjalmarsson is gone. Which, if Suter comes, is very likely.

he also is now saying he believes Nash will be traded to Edmonton. If that happens I will pull a Rex Kramer (for anyone who has seen Kentucky Fried Movie).

Interesting. Think he'll be OK with coming to a team to be a second pairing guy? Especially since he'll probably make more money than either Keith or Seabrook. |

I don't think it's the point of being on the 1st or 2nd paring, but rather he gets the minutes of a top paring guy. It's concievable that Keith, Suter and Seabrook could all play 25 minutes or more a game. |

So you think he'll be unhappy about being paid more to do less? i don't know about anyone else but that would be a dream for me.

I have a hard time taking the hawks seriously as a contender for Suter or any marquee FA. SB has been a really poor GM to date and even if it's up to mcD..... What has he ever done for the cubs besides packing the stands for a losing team? I seem to recall the cubs signing a bunch of overpaid players past their primes just about every season. Maybe I'm wrong. I don't follow baseball as much but I do know that cubs stands for Completely Useless By September.
If it was talon calling the shots i would take the hawks more seriously right now. Jmo. |

That's not true. The Cubs are usually done by May 1st.
I would have to guess that if the Hawks have a real shot at Suter, they're going to have to move some salary at the draft. I guess we'll see what happens around the draft. |

I’m told—and others have echoed this as well— that geography, particularly proximity to Suter’s family in Madison, WI will play into his decision. If it does, then that supports bids by Minnesota and Chicago, both driveable distances from Madison. - John Jaeckel
JJ, I'm not sure how much info you have on this, but outside of proximity to Madison, have you heard of Minnesota being a legitimate contender to sign Suter based on any other factors? Also, for whom does the proximity benefit? Is it so Suter's family is within driving distance to see him play or so he is within driving distance of his family?
I'm just curious how legitimate the Wild's chances may be to sign him if he makes it to July 1 as a UFA. |

Think about how hard that is to do. Name another team that had the attendance the Cubs had while sucking half the time. You can't cuz there ain't any others.
There's teams out there that are way better than the Cubs and draw less - still. The ChiSox have been a better team than the Cubs averaging the last 10 seasons and the Cubs still outdraw them by more than a half million a year average, in similar sized open-air ballparks, with only 30 night games a year...
McD put a lot of money in the pockets of the Tribsters.
Not until recently has the [EDIT: Cubs] attendance really fallen off. |
